| An old man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy throwing starfish into the ocean. "What are you doing?" asked the curuious, old man. "Oh, I'm saving starfish so that they won't dry up on the beach," replied the boy. "But... look around you. There are starfish everywhere. There are far too many to save and you can't rescue them all." The boy thought for a while and picked up another starfish. "See this?" He threw the starfish back into the sparkling, vast ocean. "I just made a difference in that starfish's life. I cannot save them all. Some starfish may be washed ashore again. But it is worth the effort, even if only one is saved." |
