The Empire of Gorn is different than any of the other kingdoms that exist in the Dragon Loft campaign setting. Click here to see the World Map.

Gorn is characterized by almost total lack of geographical features, the land is mostly comprised of rolling hills and a few rivers to break up the monotonous landscape. Most of the people live in the massive walled cities. each of these city states hold several million people!! the countryside is farmland for the most part, the nobles that control the vital farm land usually kill intruders on sight. This factor keeps the wanderlust down to the ultra tough and the crazy ones. Travel on roads is permitted, but one would be a fool to stray off the path. All of the cities in Gorn are built on or next to a river. The cities are huge, with layers of buildings upon buildings, the air is foul to the point that it is visible as one approaches a given city. Vast sewers lie underneath Gorn cities, many creatures that dare not walk the surface reside in these massive pipes and tributaries. Living is cramped, only the Nobles can afford to have any space in the crowded cities of Gorn. The streets are choked with debris, filth and huge numbers of the dispossessed. There is a huge rift between the haves and the have-nots. For every noble there are hundreds of poor and homeless. Homeless people are often swept up by the guard to be pressed into slavery of one form or another. Life in Gorn is a harsh one.
To the far north lies Dragon Loft, this kingdom is characterized by it's massive trade routes and cosmopolitan people and government. Most of the people of Gorn think these people to be weak due to a lack of a strong ruler. Dragon Loft has no king, they are ruled by a consul of elders. Gornians also know that there is much wealth to be had in Dragon Loft, for most people belong to some sort of merchant class.
On the northern border of Gorn is the Dwarven kingdom of Steeltower. This country is split in half by a huge mountain range that spans off deep into the Frontier. The People of Gorn acknowledge the dwarves skill with metal and stone-they would make excellent slaves.
To the South West is the Elven kingdom of Radia. The Kingdom of Radia is one massive forest. This quality makes it difficult to invade, and this has been a sore spot with the people of Gorn for some time. Gorn is mostly human dominated, they distrust and dislike elves-they live so long, why don't they gather power and wealth instead of singing stupid songs?
The south and south east is the location of the kingdom of Norag. This is a barbarian kingdom, they have few large towns and only one city. Most of the people are nomadic, following game throughout the seasons. From this territory, the Gorn will raid from time to time as the people of Norag make good warriors for the pit.
To the far south is the nation of Holt. The Kingdom of Holt is in a constant state of religious wars; law vs. chaos. These people only unify to repel invaders then quickly return to killing each other. To the Gorn, these people are zealots and thus considered dangerous-a zealot will do anything, right?
