Several Noble houses are present in the various cities in the kingdom of Gorn. The Capital of Gorn is called Gorn or Gorn City. Gorn City is massive and contains all the houses in the land. This characteristic makes Gorn City exceptional, other cities only have the local lords in control.
The Players are under the employ of the Noble House of Roarark. Roarark is special because they have an controlling interest in the massive docks that cover Gorn City's eastern portion. The House of Roarark is in direct competition with the House of Visby for total control of the docks. Other houses that have a stake there are Belenath, Toreq, Parkehve & Dermach-these houses have a lesser degree of control of the docks, their power lies elsewhere.
At the outset of the game all of the noble houses are in precarious balance to one another. None of them expected the Dark Lord to perish so none have prepared for a coupe of any kind. Every starts on equal footing-scrambling.
