Back ground information:

No one remembers when the Dark Lord gained control of Gorn. Rumors have floated about for centuries of rulers that came before the Dark Lord, but any historical record of this has been long erased from the books and the people’s memory. The Dark Lord is all, he sees all and knows all, the Dark Lord rules the empire of Gorn with a iron hand an a unsleeping eye. As a tyrant, the Dark Lord kept the system of Nobles and feudalism intact, every city is evenly divided amongst the various noble houses. The Nobles in turn are pitted against each other to gain small amounts of power over their fellow nobles, this system keeps their eye off the prized so to speak and busy squabbling for paltry amounts of land and title. A side effect of this system is a huge dichotomy between the rich and poor. There are a few rich, ruling class nobles and huge throngs of poor and dispossessed. The poor don’t have much to do but toil and breed, thus the population of Gorn is the largest in the known lands. Overpopulation creates a whole host of problems, crime, unrest, and low morale being some of them. The Dark Lord put his massive population to work, spending several years preparing for war. Opportunity drew people to the war from all over the empire, the mass exodus from the cities to the front was impressive. That was seven years ago, back on the home front things have gotten back to normal for the most part. Success on the battlefield can help a house at home, so many of the houses sent their best and brightest to the battles in the north. During this time a void of talent and ability was created, this allowed people of non-noble status to rally under the banners of the various noble houses. These "new men" have proven to be as ambitious as the court creatures of old. The Dark Lord has encouraged the introduction of new blood from the ranks of the dispossessed. The empire was getting stagnant, war seemed like a good distraction for the people. No one would have thought that the Dark Lord himself would be slain because of it.

As the sky is blue, the Dark Lord Presides over the empire of Gorn, no one was prepared for what happened. The northern war was drawing to a close, the last bastion was the great walled city of Dragon Loft. As it’s walls were being worn down by bombardier beetles and other engines of mass destruction, several old and apparently powerful adventures were resourceful enough to enter the Dark Lords keep and destroy him. This is where the Players begin.......
