Duels
Many political disputes are settled in the dueling courts. Once a month a constable will preside over the disputes for the month. The Duels are a great spectacle and draw huge crowds. Duels can involve any weapons but are usually done with daggers. Professional duelists can be hired to do the fighting. Informal duels are treated as if they were a common brawl.
New Weapons
Gorn are experts at the use and manufacture of poison. Common sorts of blood, ingested, and contact poison can be easily had. Most people of influence or power will have several methods for dealing with poison, tasters, magic, and magic items are not too uncommon to protect someone from a poison dish. The Gorn have developed several weapons that are concealed as articles of clothing, hat pins, ring garrotes, and other such items can be had for a price. Most of these items are too flimsy to be used in actual combat, their real purpose is poison delivery systems. Magical poisons are also manufactured by the Gorn, these cannot be detected by normal means and exceptional ones will only poison the intended target! Of course for most people, magical poisons are well beyond their reach.
Larger concealed weapons can be purchased for 10 times the regular cost of the actual weapon. Not all weapons can be made into other objects, common ones include; sword-cane (rapier), knife-belt buckle (knife), walking stick-short spear (short spear).. the more complex the design, the more costly the weapon. Large weapons such as battle axes and two handed swords obviously cannot be made into concealable weapons.
One of the most fearsome weapons developed by the Gorn is Razor-Wire. This is basically a super sharp garrote that can sever unprotected flesh. This device will only be functional on unprotected flesh, leather-even heavy cloth will nullify the Razor-Wire's effectiveness. One must get the wire around the arm or neck of the victim and then give a sharp tug-the damage it inflicts is terrific (1-10/1-6) for such a small, compact weapon. The Razor wire is very thin and prone to breakage, even the slightest resistance from a blade or gauntleted hand can snap the wire. A tool of choice for assassins.
