Weathering was done with techniques I read in Fine Scale Modeler. Using U.S. Navy Blue, I mixed the paint with liquid dish detergent and water to form a "sludge" that was run over the scribed panel lines. Let dry and remove with q-tips (I bought the cheap-o CVS brand). Gunship Gray was used as a wash for the engines and small sections of the saucer. A yellow chrome wash was used to highlight the impulse engines.

This has been a challenging project. It required working with resin and lacquer which can both be alittle tricky. This is the most extensive puttying / sanding / weathering project I have done to date. I was able to use different techniques that I've read about the past couple of months. It is also the first time I have attemtping "aztecing" a starship .... I am very pleased with the effect. The paint job has adhered to the resin parts without any problem, so I must have cleaned the parts fairly well.

This is the Galaxy Class Dreadnought as seen in TNG's "All Good Things...." It is the ERTL Enterprise-D with Starcraft's AGT Enterprise conversion kit. Aftermarket decals were custom made by JTGraphics. The hull color was airbrushed on -- it is a mix of 60% light ghost gray with 35% medium gray and about 5% insignia blue. The aztec paneling was hand painted using 60% Grun RLM 62 mixed with the hull color.
