Well, the ensuing struggle by theives to ruin your personal livlihood and steal your money has taken a new turn. Skimming is a process that specifically targets your ATM debit cards.

So what happens? Theives love to target gas station gas pumps and other places that accept the cards. By carefully installing a device that can read the magnetic strip on these cards, they obtain your account infomation. Then, they use a camera or onlooker to observe your pin number. Next, the theives go and clean out your bank account.

How do you overcome this new threat?

1. Pay cash or use a credit card for purchases.

2. If you must use the ATM card, use one hand to cover the other hand that is typing your pin to conceal the number.

3. Beware some banks and their "no service" policy. A recent report I heard indicated that Bank of America wanted to hold victims of this form of theft responsible...
Insanity!!! Make sure you have a bank that will support you when you need it. If you don't have one like this, get a new bank!!!
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS SKIMMING?
