RELATED ITEMS:

- Daffy Tong took home the official funeral portrait -- a publicity still of Cheung from HE'S A WOMAN, SHE'S A MAN.

- According to the biography read during the funeral service, Cheung and Tong met on December 9th, 1982 at a function at The Regent hotel. Their twenty-year relationship began during the ensuing holidays.

- In keeping with her screen image, Brigitte Lin kept a brave face throughout the ceremonies.

- Chow Yun-Fat was approached by the family to be a pallbearer but refused for personal reasons. Chow: "Leslie's family asked me to be a pallbearer but, after careful consideration, I decided not to. Not being a pallbearer does not mean that I do not respect him!"

- At the funeral, Anita Mui Yim-Fong made her first public appearance since Cheung's death. Clearly devestated and still reeling, Calvin Choi Yat-Chi and Remus Choi Yat-Kit had to step in and keep her on her feet following the memorial service.

ONLY IN HONG KONG:

- Cecilia Cheung Pak-Chi did not attend the funeral. Instead, she drove herself to the Mandarin Hotel and stood, for a few minutes, at the spot where Leslie Cheung's body was found. When asked by reporters what she was doing, Cheung replied: "I'm just here to visit Gor-Gor!"

- Faye Wong did not go to the reception at the Conrad Hotel following the services. Instead, she went shopping at a nearby clothing store. When asked by reporters if she was concerned that it was unseemly to go shopping immediately after a funeral, Wong answered: "So what? I don't care (what people think)."

- The papers will not let talk of a Faye Wong - Nic Tse relationship die. The Sun, Oriental Daily and Sing Pao suggested that Wong and Tse were together again because they made their appearance at the wake just minutes apart. Also, all three papers pointed out that Wong and Tse attended the funeral while Cecilia Cheung did not.
