Last night, in the Falls, Myshel and myself were discussing a recent thread on the GPB about how lately it seems most Goreans online have forgotten how to have fun.

I'm not referring to the fun to be had in the playrooms with cyber battles and dripping subbies.

There was a time, when we came here and allowed ourselves to enjoy each other and our mutual love of Gor. Over the past several years we have discussed, analyzed, studied and disected every teeny tiny detail of the Gorean philosophies to death.

Myself, I have grown tremendously over the past four years or so, learning things about myself that I never knew, and facing truths about myself that I had for a long time denied. Much of this came about as a result of discussions, but when I think back over the time spent here, the moments that stand out in my mind and heart are those spontaneous moments of pure enjoyment.

~The infamous night of "Gor-B-Q" in the Catta Doxxa Tavern. A couple hours of pure fun where a roomfull of Goreans cooked and ate a particularly rude Cowgirl Tourist who'd been artfully *killed* with a projectile cork between the eyes.

~The afternoon two slaves and myself built the treehouse in the Falls with the help of bosk_o.

~The evening I slapped on a tiara and ruled Lorn's "castle" (till I was cruelly *dethroned* by a couple of uppity peasants ;)

~Weekend afternoons spent preparing Gorean feasts in the Falls.

Not only did these stir the creative juices, but led to many interesting conversations about the books and the cultures within them. What kind of foods were available in that locality? How does one build a structure in the woods without tools?

As I spoke to my friend, I mentioned that I missed those times when we all just enjoyed each other within a virtual Gorean environment.

Then, my friend Myshel tied on her "Kiss (the feet of) the Cook" apron, fired up the grill and we had our own "Gor-B-Q" here in the Falls.

No earth-shattering psychodrama.... no angst-filled discussion.. just a few people enjoying each other's company and the thing that brought them together... a love of Gor and all that it entails.

So many have become so engrossed in the frenzy to "appear Gorean," to behave like or act like Goreans, consumed with the worry about what others think of them, afraid of being stamped with that "HNG" label (Hopelessly Non Gorean). While introspection and the quest for self-knowledge are valuable pursuits, we should not allow them to drive us to the point where we surrender the freedom to enjoy life and just *be*

I refuse to surrender my freedom to just be.

And last night, my friend Myshel in her special way, reminded me that I don't have to.

So, we decided that each week, we're going to do some cooking. Some weeks here in the Falls, and some weeks in the Snow Sleen Inn.

You're welcome to join us. Come and cook, or come and eat, or just come to relax and enjoy the company of Goreans, in a Gorean setting.

We'll leave the light on for you.
