There seems to be a new wave of FW here in Online Gor. Every day brings a new batch. Sashaying into rooms with shiny new capped names, expecting attention and respect they seem to think they are due.

Well, tootsies.... it doesn't work that way.

How do I know that? Well, several years ago, I was in your position. Brand spankin new, strutting my stuff, doing pretty much whatever the hell I pleased. A free woman tried to tell me, but I was not listening. She told me that it was not that simple. Every time I acted up, mouthed off, or made an ass of myself, I made it that much more difficult for other FW to gain or hold onto any semblance of credibility. Did I listen?

Nope.

To her credit, Sajan tried everything short of clubbing me over the head, but I wasn't having it. Like a willfull child, I rolled my eyes and smirked while listening to "FW Lecture #43987." I heard them often enough to repeat them word for word, yet still, it did not sink in.

I had to learn the hard way. Which is why I speak to you now. You can avoid that. You have the power to stop and think and make some changes. So that you will not have to learn the hard way.

I hope you do, because there is nothing more painful than to find that your antics have rendered you unworthy of the time or attention of a man you respect. To know that this man whom you look up to and revere, no longer considers you as a person deserving of his respect or regard, is devastating.

The other night, a man said to me in PM "I find that FW completely displeasing."

I hope she is reading this. I hope that she and others like her will think about their behavior. I hope that they will begin to realize that respect is not their due. It must be earned. That does not happen overnight. It is not automatically bestowed with a Capitalized name.

You are not Free women of Gor. By virtue of not being slave, you are free, but it takes much more than that to be a Gorean Free Woman. That title is earned. Latching onto a FC will not make it real. Neither will collaring slaves. The only way to earn that title is through your own actions.

Once you do that, you will find that the respect will be there.

Why do I care whether you get respect or not? I don't. Whatever you get, whether it is respect or disdain, you will have earned yourself. That is yours to live with. However, your behavior also affects the way people view FW as a whole. You reflect on the rest of us. And we pay the price. We walk the high bridges as FW, and every time one of you acts up, you shake the already tenuous position of every other woman.

So, next time you think "No one respects me," look to your own actions and honestly consider if your behavior is deserving of respect. If not, then do something about it.

Otherwise, you will have to learn the hard way.

And once you get tossed off that high bridge.......

It's a long, hard climb back.
