| June 9, 2001 My Bonneville has been on order since May 2nd. And it's still not here. So, I drove the 90 something miles to my dealer to talk about accessories and to get a demo ride. So what if I haven't had a bike for going on 30 years? I still had my license and all I had to do was sign a release of liability. What was the worse thing that could happen? Well, all men die. Few men live to ride the 2001 Triumph Bonneville. Today was my day to ride and ride I did! During my awesome demo ride, I experienced a rush of feelings. Anxiety, fear and panic that only a brush with death can bring. Then the exhilaration of letting go; realizing the bike had the capability to keep both of us alive. And finally the joy of being one with the bike, the wind and the road. So here it is, thirty years later and I'm hooked again! |
