Fragmenta Minimus LevÇ

A legend among the names on #3.02. Fragmenta Minimus Levo are the brainchild of the infamous

Maeonides L‘th‘ one time friend of Ree Piztonna before the latter alienated himself through his silence pact.

L‘th‘ formed his band in 1983 an assault against the reactionaries he felt were forcing creativity out of modern life. Indeed L‘th‘=s music has inspired hatred and controversy wherever it goes. Protesters have made many attempts to sabotage Fragmenta and many people have tried to take L‘th‘=s life. It has even been rumoured that the Polish government once had a reward on his head.

L‘th‘=s was joined by D§tis Lesbia and Catullus Vitium as the core of Fragmenta over the next 5 years they made a name for themselves playing improvisations on a variety of instruments and were joined by many other musicians including Serge Outre, once of Ree Piztonna=s band, who made an appearance at one riotous show which actually had to be abandoned due to a large group of puritans who set fire to the concert hall. Although L‘th‘=s pleaded to be allowed to stay as all the events helped to form the originality of that particular show he had to abandon the stage.

Suprisingly in this time although many improvisations were performed no records were produced. The Fragmenta live show relied upon the improvisation and therefore to record a track would entailed some sort of recreation. Also the process of recording disgusted Lesbia and it was felt that unless it could be recorded as an improvisation it should not be recorded at all. Many bootleg recordings of shows are around but none are of good quality.

These recordings are a subject of much hatred for L‘th‘ who wishes that fans should not identify themselves with any particular improvisations as the Fragmenta sound fearing that the sound may become dated or embarrassing so having recorded evidence was a liability. Instead Fragmenta played frequently so fans would not alienated.

In 1989 L‘th‘=s was imprisoned for GBH on a Areactionary fachist@ who had been taunting him while walking in London’s Hyde Park. During his stay in prison Lesbia and Vitium concentrated on projects outside of music.

L‘th‘=s came out of prison in 1990 and had been changed for the worse during his time. He had become increasingly paranoid that the world was full of nothing but charlatans, reactionaries and communists and he subscribed to believe that he was never safe. He abandoned the principles of science believing them to be nothing more than a hindrance to one=s creativity and spent the next couple of years philosophising, happy to leave his music on the backburner.

In 1992 Fragmenta, who had lain dormant for 3 years suddenly sprung into life and played a number of spontaneous and low-key shows around the world.

The last of these took place late in 1993 and since then the members of Fragmenta appear to have vanished off the face of the world. No sign of them has been seen since the last concert and still no official recorded evidence exists and all three core-members have vowed that it never will.

People are still eagerly awaiting their return and wonder how they will fare in these very different times of 21st century music.
