| She hid behind the tree her weapon of choice, a snowball as large as her hand, ready to take fire as she waited for her enemy. Suddenly she heard the crunch of the snow and turned in time to see a white blob speed towards her. She tried to avoid the bullet but it was too late. Just as she let out a squeal the cold of snow hit her chest and when she went to take a step back to adjust her footing she tripped and fell. His laughter rang through the air as he trotted over to her, "You ok?" She lay on her back and groaned, "I don't know, my head." He fell to his knees and looked down at her, "What's wrong?" She looked into his anxiety-filled eyes and whispered. He leaned down closer, "What? I couldn't hear you. Say it again." She quickly shoved a handful of snow into his face and laughed as she attempted to get up and escape. He was too quick and held her legs until he could get a better grasp then pulled her down by her waist. He sat on her and she screamed as he lifted her clothes and the slow burn of the snow melted on her stomach, "Ah that's cold." He leaned down, his face hovering over hers, "You asked for it." She continuously squirmed to no avail, "You hit me first." She licked her lips and lowered her voice, "Come on baby, warm me up." He smiled and looked around before answering her, "Out here?" She shrugged as he looked around once more, "We're in the mountains. There isn't anyone around here, the closest cabin is like a mile away." He still seemed to be apprehensive, "But what about mountain lions and tigers and stuff?" She rolled her eyes, "I'm sure they were raised properly, they'll cover their eyes." He sighed and she laughed. She loved frustrating him, he always took everything she said so seriously, "N...no man, I mean, they could come eat us or something." She shook her head and sighed, "Well, let's go inside." He stood up in order to help pull her to her feet, "We've been out here for thirty minutes." He shook his head as he grabbed her wrist and looked at her watch, "I can't wait to hit the jacuzzi." She smiled at the thought of sitting in hot steaming water with him, "Oooh and some hot chocolate." He became excited, "Yeah, with the little marshmellows." They made their way to the cabin and opened the door to see darkness, soon there would be no light at all outside. She entered first and hit the light switch, "Oh don't tell me the lights are out." He went over and tried the lamp, "Damn." She sat on the couch as he walked to the kitchen, "Doug said batteries, flashlights and stuff like that are in the kitchen drawer. I'll go get them." She stood up, "I'll make the fire." He turned around quickly, "Have you ever lit a fireplace before?" She shook her head, now that he mentioned it she no longer wanted to try, "Ok, I'll get the flashlights and you get the fire." He nodded and smacked her butt as they passed each other. She came back with two flashlights and placed them on the coffee table as he struck a match, "Wait!" He looked over his shoulder, "What? What's wrong?" She smiled, "Do I need to go outside while you do that?" He rolled his eyes, "Whatever, I've lit a fireplace before." She ran up the stairs and he figured she was still playing along with her little joke. When she came back with a blanket full of things he was on the couch, "What's in that?" She made her way near the fireplace and lay the blanket out, "Blanket, sheet, pillows and six big candles from the master bedroom." He smiled as she placed the candles around and lit them, "I used my cell phone and called, they're working on the electricity." She nodded, "Cool, come here." He slid off the couch and sat next to her, "What's up?" She saw that his shoes were already off and, unlike her, had managed to remove his outer layers of clothing, "Help me take my clothes off." He smiled, "You know you're always cold." He began to laugh, "Even in the summer." She didn't return his laughter as she got up on her knees and took off her jacket and scarf, "I'm hot now." She locked eyes with him and slowly pulled off her sweater and T-shirt at the same time. Stranded Part 2 Home |
