Chapter 7

As soon as the van stopped Nick jumped out and made his way to the service elevator,
"Nick, Nick wait."  He turned around to see Kristin, with the others just behind her,
"No I don't want to talk about it."  She turned and held her hand up,
"Guys catch the next one."  The doors closed and she stood in front of Nick,
"Nick, I'm sorry ok?  We shouldn't have but why are you so moody and pissed about it?  It didn't have to be that way."  He shook his head and looked away,
"It's nothing, I just didn't like getting tricked like that."  She nodded and looked genuinely   upset,
"I'm sorry."  She smiled and tugged at his sleeve,
"Isn't MacKenzie gorgeous?"  He nodded,
"Yeah, she is."  She playfully tapped his arm,
"How do you know?  You were looking down the entire time Mr. Anti-Social."  He smiled,
"I looked at her a few times."  In fact, he looked at her alot, he couldn't get over her skin color and her hair. He looked at more than just the baby, he stole glances at her mom as well.  He competely understood what Larry had said about her looking better than ever.  He didn't want to but he couldn't help but think about kissing and touching Quinn again, maybe it was the top she was wearing.  If he didn't know better he'd think her breasts had gotten bigger,
"Hey, can I ask you something?"  She nodded,
"Yeah, anything."  He shook his head, that slipped out before he even thought about it,
"Never mind, forget it."  She sighed,
"Nick tell me."  She watched as he struggled with his question all the while his face turned bright pink.  Every time she looked at him she wanted to hug him, he was like a little brother, she just adored him so much there were no words,
"Well, does Quinn look...when you have a baby...never mind forget it."  She shook her head,
"Nick you better tell me."  He blurted out,
"Her boobs looked really big."  She smiled,
"Well you probably know more about her boobs than I do but when you have a baby they get bigger."  He nodded,
"I thought after you had the baby they went down or something."  She shook her head,
"Depends...some women don't lose what they gain."  He nodded absent-mindedly and waited for her to give off the elevator before him stepped out,
"Hey, I'm not really all that mad.  It was just kind of shocking seeing her after all that time."  She nodded,
"I understand.  Maybe you guys-"  Nick shook her head,
"Maybe what?  Don't start thinking anything Kristin, you're always trying to hook me up, she has a boyfriend remember?" Kristin sighed,
"Yeah, I know, she's just the only girl you've ever dated that I liked. I just got a little excited."  She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek and stood there.  When he looked at her curiously she smiled,
"I'm just waiting on Kevin, he has the key."  He nodded,
"Want me to wait?"  He shook her head,
"No sweetie but thanks for asking."  She watched as he disappeared into his room, wondering what was going on in that head of his.

"That didn't go well, that's the most uncomfortable meal I've ever had.  I couldn't even enjoy my food."  Kevin felt bad for putting both Nick and Quinn in such a miserable situation.  Howie nodded,
"Yeah but who knew they would react like that.  Something really bad definitely happened between those two, I want to know what it is."  Larry stood behind them, invisible like a bodyguard is supposed to be, and simply listened.  It just wasn't his place to say anything no matter how much he wished the two of them could work it out especially considering they may share a child.  Now that was something he wanted to scream out, Nick had a right to know,
"So what do you guys think of little MacKenzie?"  Kevin's face lit up,
"She is so precious and those eyes."  Howie nodded and looked back at Larry,
"Not a lot of black people have green eyes do they?"  Larry smiled,
"Well, since I know all the black people in the world-"  Howie rolled his eyes,
"I'm sorry man but come on you know what I mean.  That's not like with whites right?"  Larry nodded,
"Yeah, it's not something you see everyday in us."  Kevin looked at them both,
"She's biracial, her skin, her eyes, the hair. Her hair is about the color of Brian's...before he went crazy with the hair dye.  Have you seen her boyfriend Larry?"  He shook his head,
"Nope but you know race doesn't matter to Quinn."  They nodded and Howie laughed,
"Yeah, cause Nick is about as white as you can get."  They laughed and Kevin nodded,
"He can use a little sun sometimes."  For a second when Kevin mentioned MacKenzie being biracial he thought they might think of Nick but it never entered their mind.
