Kevin, Kristin, Nick, Howie and Larry were all sitting around the table when Larry's cell phone went off,
"Hello? Yeah, ok. That's fine, don't worry about it." Nick sighed,
"Can we order now. Why have we just been drinking?" Howie smiled,
"We were making toasts and wishing each other well." Nick frowned,
"Well our food could have been cooking while we were having this Hallmark moment." Larry looked over at Kevin and nodded,
"We should order now." Kevin caught on and waved the waiter over who was standing near another table. She nodded and acknowledged him before turning back to her presenrt customers. Nick grumbled,
"Who sits around for ten minutes, drinking and talking before they even place their order?" They all just sat there and listened, what could they say? They were trying to stall for Quinn. They had all been giving each other nervous glances, what would Nick say, how would he react to seeing Quinn again?
The host pointed her towards the table and Quinn brightened up when she saw Kevin, Kristin, Howie and Larry,
"Hi you guys." They all stared at her and the baby. Kristin stood up and wrapped her arms around her,
"Hi sweetie, hey um who's the little one? Are you babysitting?" Quinn laughed,
"You can say that, this is my daughter." Howie, Kevin and Larry all stood up and hugged her while giving her their congratulations after she assured them that yes, this very white-looking baby was hers. Quinn, unknowingly, sat in Nick's chair and placed MacKenzie's carrier in the empty seat that was meant for her. Kristin began to play with the baby,
"Why didn't you tell us Larry?" He shook his head,
"I didn't know. Why didn't you tell me?" She shook her head,
"I don't know." That was all that could be said before Howie and Kevin looked up and Quinn began to laugh as they stared above her head,
"What are you guys looking at?" She turned around and locked eyes with Nick,
"Oh um." She turned back around and saw the anxiety on Howie and Kevin's faces. She looked over to see Larry looking at her hesitantly,
"Uh Kristin can you help me change Mac?" Kristin nodded as she looked between Quinn and Nick,
"Uh yeah sure." Kristin grabbed the diaper bag as Quinn scooped up the baby carrier and quickly made her way to the restroom.
Nick sat down,
"What is she doing here?" He looked over at Larry,
"This was your idea to invite her?" Kevin raised his hand,
"No, it was me and Kristin." Nick looked at Howie and then back at Larry,
"But you and Howie knew she was going to be here. I can't believe you guys. What's the big idea?" Kevin shrugged,
"We just thought it would be fun." Nick frowned, his voice a little louder,
"Fun? To play with people like that?" Howie shook his head,
"No, not fun. Just...we all like her and we know you guys hadn't seen each other in a while and we thought-" Nick sighed,
"And you thought it would be fun to stick your noses where it didn't belong. If I wanted to see her I knew what to do to make it possible and the same for her. She could have gotten in touch with me. Did any of you think of that?" They were all silent as they were made to listen to Nick's lecture,
"And who's baby is that?" Howie sighed,
"Hers." Nick's face was full of shock as he sat back and crossed his arms, this was not going to be the quiet uneventful night he was hoping for.
