| Chapter 33 David and Elliott dropped Chris and me off at the hotel after a few hours of shopping to go visit a few friends they knew in the area. I'm standing near the elevators waiting on Chris who couldn't wait until we got to our room to hit the restroom when I hear a little commotion. I turn to see Kevin and Howie with their security stop in the lobby to greet a few of the fans. Kevin had a constant smile on his face but he didn't seem to be smiling at anyone in particular. Howie had a smile plastered on his face as well as they began signing autographs. Chris came out and I point towards the crowd, "Your man is over there." She looks over and frowns, "Where? Who?" I smile and lean against the wall, "Howie over there signing autographs with Kevin." We stand to the side and watch them finally make their way to the elevator, "Quinn, you ready for round two?" I smile, "Anytime. Hey Howie." He smiles and nods, "Hey, I didn't know you were here. Does Nick and Eric know?" His questions makes me feel good, like he knows Nick would want to see me or something, "Yeah, I saw them last night. Hey, this is Christina." Kevin and Howie both shake her hand and the elevator opens. Before we go in I see a couple of flashes go off and look over to see our picture had been snapped. We were sideways so they definitely didn't get a worth while picture, "So, what are you guys up to?" Kevin shook his head, "Nothing much, just chill until we have to go to the show." I nod, "What time do you have to be there?" He looks down at his watch and seems to talk to himself as he absent-mindedly announces it's currently one thirty, "We have to be there at four." Howie looks over, "So, what are you girls doing?" I look over at Chris who looks over at me, "Nothing, just came back from the mall. What are you up to Howie?" I hold up my bags as proof of our shopping excursion. Howie held up a DVD, "Have you seen it?" I nod my head yes as Chris shook her head no, "You want to watch it?" She looks over at me and I use my eyes to give her the 'you better' look, "Sure." We made it our floor and I took her bags, "I'll take these, enjoy the movie." I made it to the room and see the flashing red light on the phone. I go over and listen to the first message which was from Elliott telling me to call and let him know what time we were leaving for the concert and to give him a call on his cell phone, the second was from the front desk announcing there was a package for me and to go down and get it. I make my way back down to the front desk, noticing the fans seemed to have all disappeared, "Where did everyone go?" The lady behind the counter sighed, "We let them hang out during the slow periods but this is the busiest time of the day so only guests can hang around the lobby." I nod, "Well that's nice you let them stay as long as they do. I'm Quinn Garner, there was a message that I have a package." The brunette smiled and nodded returning with an envelope, "Here you go." I smile and walk away back towards the elevator and stop to open the envelope. Inside were four front row seats to the show that night. I smile, we didn't have bad seats but they were definitely not as good as these. It must have been Nick, this was unbelievable. As I put the tickets back in the envelope I hear someone in my ear, "Hey." I turn and see Nick and suddenly feel shy all over again, "Hi." He smiles, "What are you up to?" I shake my head and look around, "Nothing." He looks over at his security then back at me, "Wanna hang out?" I nod and follow as we make our way onto the elevator, "What's that?" He nods at the envelope, "Um, the tickets for the concert you left for us." He frowns and shakes his head, "I didn't leave tickets for you." I frown and shake my head, "Someone did, they're front row. Maybe it was Eric." He shrugs his shoulders, "Hmm...where is he anyway?" I glance over at his security, he seemed to be there but not really. It was like he blended into the scenery, I guess thats what a good bodyguard does, "He has family in the area and he's hanging out with them." He nods as he makes his way out of the elevator. His security stretched out his hand to let me off first. I smile and step off, following behind Nick. Chivalry is non-existent to young guys like Nick but it doesn't bother me, I've never been caught up in all that too much but a gesture every now and then is nice. We step into his room and the first thing I notice is how cold it is, "Whoa, why is it so cold in here?" He rolls his eyes, "I called them a long time ago, they were supposed to fix it. Thats why I left I couldn't take being in here so we went to the mall." I smile, "So did we, which one did you go to Florida Mall?" He nods as I continue, "We went to Fashion Square." His security went over and opened the balcony door before heading to the phone. I watched him as he firmly let whoever answered the phone that the room situation was unacceptable. He was a tall black guy and his arms are bigger than my head, I have the urge to go compare and smile as I imagine the look he would give me. His bald head shined bright under the light, "Ok, they should fix it soon." Nick nods and looks over at him, "Thanks Larry." Larry, finally a name, he nods and walks by, "I'll be in my room, let me know if you need me." He looks over at me and walks out. Home Mixed Feelings Chapter 34 |
