Chapter 22

As I walk off the plane ten forty-seven that night I am full of nervous energy, I can't wait to see Eric.  I look around and I don't see him but I haven't seen him in so long I'm afraid I might have forgotten what he looked like.  Hopefully, when I see him I will know it.  I've gone through this many times with people, once you leave they show up so I'm sitting here at the gate, hoping he'll be here soon.  I take out my cell phone and decide to call only to see that I had a message, it's from Eric letting me know he was caught in LA traffic but to wait at the gate; that message was fiftenn minutes ago.  I dial his number,
"Hello?"  Now my mind is a little more at ease,
"Hey, it's Quinn where are you?"  I can hear the hustle and bustle of the airport through the phone,
"I'm about five gates from you."  I look over to see a little girl staring at me and I smile at her,
"Ok, I'll be waiting, bye."  I've always loved people watching.  Whether it was the mall, the park or the airport.  It's so interesting to see people performing their daily affairs thinking no one was really watching them.  Right now someone is watching me and I don't even know it,
"Hey girl." I smile wide as I run to him and we hug,
"Hi, I can't believe it."
"Ok, you know where to get your luggage?"  I nod as we begin to walk,
"Yep."  He looked over at me,
"What do you want to do?"  Just as I am about to answer a huge yawn escapes me,
"Why don't we call it a night and we'll start fresh tomorrow?"  I begin to laugh,
"Sorry, yeah good idea."

I roll over and the clock can not be right, there is no way it's only five thirty.  Guess it's that time difference thing.  I stretch out in the bed, Eric was nice enough to let me take the bed and he took the couch.  Once I'm up, I'm generally up so I groan as I think I'm probably not going back to sleep.  Eric had to be at rehearsal at nine and we weren't leaving until eight.  Two and a half hours, what the hell could I do?  I flipped on the TV and decided to watch a movie, he had a few I hadn't seen before.  Before I knew it there was a knock on the door,
"Yeah, come in."  Eric peeked his head in,
"How long have you been up?"  I looked over at the clock,
Five thirty."  He groaned,
"You want the shower first?"  I shook my head,
"Ok, we'll leave around eight, ok?"  I nodded my head as I yawned.

I walked in behind Eric, my eyes wide as I look around.  A few dancers are already stretching and he waves at them and they all look at me,
"Hey, everybody this is Quinn."  I waved hello as he told me their names, I know I am not going to remember all of them.  I sit on the side, refusing a chair and watch as they go through their routine.  I've been watching for hours and I haven't been bored yet.  They took a break and Eric came over and I held out a bottled water,
"So, you guys rehearse without the band and the group all the time?"  He nodded,
"A lot of the time we'll rehearse with a tape from a live show by ourselves.  The guys are rehearsing with us almost everyday this time because there are some changes before the next leg of the tour."  I nod,
"Are they coming in today?"  He nodded,
"Yep, I think they come in at one."  I look around as everyone else seemed to have disappeared,
"Where is everyone?" He looked around,
"Oh, lunch from eleven-thirty to one, come on."  We stood up and left for lunch at a taco stand of all places.
