Sound check was over and a success. Thankfully, it didn�t last long and it gave us time to relax before the fan conference. We were all hanging out in AJ�s dressing room, which along with Howie was the only dressing room that the five of us agreed to hang out in, autographing media photos for fans. Brian was sitting next to me and hit me hard enough to screw up my signature. Now my �k� looked like an �h�,
�So Sarah. She�s a beautiful girl man. I mean, really beautiful. How did you meet her?� Ok, so he was forgiven for messing up my name,
�Brehan.� He looked over at me with a slight frown on his face,
�She knows Brehan?� Everyone seemed to be interested now, however, Howie�s degree of interest was far less than the other three,
�She and Brehan are friends.� Brehan, man it seems like forever since the last time I�ve really thought about her. I don�t even know where she is or what she�s doing. The last time we saw each other it was a little strained but hopefully we worked it out. I didn�t really get to spend any time with her at the gala.
�Brehan hooked Nick and Sarah up.� I glanced over at Howie and he nodded before going back to signing his name. Kevin entered back into the group�s favorite past time, which was getting in my business.
�When did this happen?� It�s funny, Kevin had recently kept his opinions about my romantic life to himself. There hadn�t been any jokes about the types of girls I associated with or what kind of girl I should be dating,
�In LA. She brought her backstage to one of our shows.� A memory suddenly entered my mind,
�If I�m not mistaken it might have been that night the two of you got into it.� Suddenly, no one was writing anymore..
�The two of you got into it? About what?� AJ�s question made me regret mentioning that whole incident. Kevin can�t let go, he always carries a grudge. He will never forget what happened with Brehan and he�ll probably never be her biggest fan because of it.
�She pulled a diva act with-� Leave it to Kevin to exaggerate the truth,
�She did not pull a diva act. She wasn�t feeling well and I went to get her something. One of our people started harassing her thinking she was some crazed fan and called for security to escort her out.� Howie, who I still think has a little thing for Brehan, seemed to be concerned,
�Did she tell them who she was?� She has an edge to her but she isn�t a bad person. If anything she is a sensitive person who doesn�t stand up for herself, at least against Steven anyway. In fact, I�ve never seen her do anything bad. In reality, in all the magazines articles I�ve seen on her lately and the different spots on TV she�s been portrayed as nothing less than a good person.
�Of course she did but they didn�t believe her.�
�She should have been wearing an access pass. There is something about her-�
�Well, that was my fault. She was my guest. Anyway, let�s just drop it.� I turned to Brian, �So yeah, Brehan introduced us in LA and she came here to hang out with me.� He nodded,
�Where is she now? At the hotel?� I wish she were there. I just couldn�t get enough of her. No one has ever reacted to me that way in bed. The way her body moved and the sounds she released made me feel like I was doing everything right. After being with her I always felt like it was fulfilling for both of us, that I made her feel as good as she made me feel. I�ve never felt like that with anyone before, I�ve never really cared if someone else felt as good as I did when we were in bed.
�No, she caught a flight back to LA already.� We had only been back from the radio station for a couple of hours before she had to leave for the airport. Of course we made the best of those couple of hours and ended up in the bed and the shower. Brian commented,
�She should have stayed and went to Vegas.� I smiled reliving just a few hours earlier. The entire time we had sex I tried to convince her to stay with me,
�I tired but she had to get back to LA.� AJ shook his head,
�Wait, so this hot chick just came for like what a night to be with you?� I smiled and it was answer enough. No words were needed,
�Damn, what the hell did you do to her?� I shook my head,
�Nothing, it�s not a big deal.� Kevin sighed,
�No, it�s really not. It�s not like she blew the month�s rent to come and see him for a night. She�s loaded. When you have money you can do all kinds of things that seem outrageous to normal people. Spending five hundred dollars might seem a little shocking to some but you have the money so you didn�t think twice when you bought them AJ.� Kevin made sense but it seemed like he was diminishing what happened. He was right, to Sarah flying to see someone for just one night wasn�t a big deal financially but it meant something that she did it for me even if I attempted to downplay it for modesty sake. Brian shook his head after seeing the look I was giving Kevin and wisely changed the subject.
�So you and Brehan. You guys aren�t�?� I laughed and threw my hands up in the air,
"No, finally, you get it. Brehan and I aren't anything but friends." He nodded,
�Ok, I believe you. Smart idea. Making Sarah look like one of our people.� She really didn�t look like one of our people she just wasn�t an obvious girlfriend. She kept her distance from me, no cuddling and kissing and she remained somewhat in the background. When we had breaks Howie spent more time talking to her than I did, I was just looking like the third wheel as they talked about the gala and she gave him tips on running a successful and well advertised foundation.
�Are you bringing her to the VMAs?� AJ asked.
�No, I don�t know when I�m going to see her again.� I rolled my eyes, �Besides have I ever taken a date to one of those awards shows?� He grunted and shook his head,
�I never understand why you never take a date.� It was simple. I never had anyone that I wanted to take to one of those things for various reasons. Whether I couldn�t trust the girl to not do something I would regret or I didn�t have anyone to go with,
�They are always boring anyway. I don�t think I�ve been to a show yet that was worth all the hype.� I was beginning to hate them. I didn�t even get a thrill out of performing on an awards show. It was nothing but a lot of politics. You can�t say this, you can�t do this, you can�t wear this, and you can�t sing that. It wasn�t about the music and it wasn�t worth the hassle.
�Hey, I�m going to LA to hang out until the VMAs. Want to hang out with me?� I briefly looked at Howie, he must have had plans for AJ to ask me, before giving AJ an apologetic look,
�Sorry man. I think I�m going to hang out on the East coast.� He nodded,
�Seeing the fam?� I shook my head and I wasn�t sure why. I didn�t really have any definite plans so it surprised me that I was so quick in answering about my family. I really wasn�t sure where I was going to be but suddenly a thought came to my mind,
�No, I think I might hang out in Boston for a few days.� Brian smiled,
�What is it with you and that city? You got some girl tucked away there?� I laughed,
�No, well yeah. Not really. Colleen lives there and I haven�t seen her in a while.� That People party seemed like a lifetime ago. Kevin nodded as he pointed his pen at me but didn�t bother to look up,
�Now that is a good girl. I really like her. She�s a smart girl.� AJ frowned as he shook his head,
�Colleen?� Howie remembered her as well,
�Yeah, she went with Nick to the People 50 Most Beautiful party.�
