| Chapter 88a Anything to stop the interrogation, "Hello?" "Hey, I got a flight. I leave in an hour. I'm on my way to the airport now." I nodded my head and glanced over at Jessica who was watching me, "That's good. Um, what time do you land?" I could see the slightest change of expression on Jessica's face but she recovered well. The last thing I wanted was for her to know another woman was coming to spend time with me. I even hope I can get Sarah in and out without her even seeing Sarah. "I'll land at 5:35 your time." Damn, how was I supposed to let her know I would have a car waiting for her and how was I supposed to find out what airline she was on and the flight number so the driver could find her? I stood up and walked over to Carl, put my arm around him and guided him away from Jessica, "What's ypur flight info? There will be a car waiting for you when you get off the plane." I could hear the smile in her voice, "You think of it all, I'm impressed. I hope you aren't going to send a limo." I rolled my eyes, "Give me a little credit will you? I was thinking more of a towncar." We chatted for a little while longer before I ended the conversation and took my place next to Jessica; waiting for her to begin a second phase of questioning, "Who was that?" She didn't waste anytime and she didn't bother to mask it either, "That was my brother. He's flying up to Boston soon." Before anymore could be said or asked we were called back to rehearsal. Carl was going to contact the hotel and instruct them to let Sarah into my room. He wasn't thrilled about it but I didn't want her to have to roam the city with me after a flight. I knew she would want to relax. And making sure she wasn't on display for the group and crew to evaluate her was even more important. Chapter 89 Stranger Than Fiction Stories Feedback |
