I mean, I know he and the other guys love to gossip but I trust him to know what to tell and what to keep to himself,
"Since I've known her he's hit her, cheated on her and sent her a gift with some other girl's name on it." He shook his head,
"Why doesn't she just dump him?" If only it were that simple. Howie has never been in a relationship where he was stuck in that state of limbo. Where the best thing to do was the hardest thing to do. When it involves love and another person it's just not as simple as people would like to think or even you would like to trick yourself into believing.
"She's blind. She loves him." I was about to tell him that the asshole was married but I've told enough and I'm glad I kept that back.
"And this is her manager right?" I nodded,
"Yeah." He shook his head and sighed,
"I can see how it would be hard. She'd have to get a new boyfriend and a new manager." I knew that would be the case and I knew that was a little bit of the reason she wouldn't leave him. She could claim love all she wanted but her career was everything to her and she always talked about how much he had done for her professionally anytime he had done something wrong to her personally. It was almost as if he got a pass on treating her like shit because he was a good manager. In a way I see a little bit of Mandy in her, no matter what happened between the two of us she wouldn't leave me. She'd leave temporarily, we'd fight, she even cheated but she and I both knew she would not leave me for good. I was the one that ended it and sometimes I think the only way Brehan and the asshole will be over is if he leaves her.
"Look just don't try to be Robin Hood or her knight in shining armor." I can't say that I don't want to. I know I won't but not because I think it's best, because getting in the middle of something so personal scares me. Relationships make people crazy and the last thing I need is for her boyfriend to think I'm in her ear talking shit about him. There's no telling what he'd do to me, or have done to me.
"You don't have to worry about that." In fact, I really do think I'm just going to keep my nose out of her business from here on out. I'll listen if she wants to tell me something but that's about it.
