| Chapter 59 Pam was waiting for me at the airport and we started walking towards the luggage pick up area, Do you want to go directly to the hotel? I nodded as I adjusted my sunglasses and continued to walk through the airport, Yes. I havent seen Pam in a long time and she looks so different. I almost didnt recognize her with her strawberry blonde hair and her contacts instead of those hideous glasses I told her she should lose. She looks nice enough; I thought for a moment about trying to hook her up with Nick instead of Sarah. Sarah was a model with the darkest brown hair and the clearest crystal blue eyes Ive ever seen. I know Nick is going to love her when I introduce him to her. He may be into those nice girls but who could deny someone as gorgeous as Sarah? Your reservation for that Japanese fusion restaurant is all taken care of and so is your spa treatment for tomorrow morning. Perfect, thats exactly how I feel like my time here is going to be. Great things are going to happen on my trip to LA, I just know it. I pulled out my ringing cell phone, Yeah? My cell phone was my number one accessory; I never went anywhere without it. Where are you? I smiled as Sarahs faux demanding voice quizzed me, How are you sweetie? Im, hold on. I called out to Pam as I glanced out the window, Where are we? She looked over at me, Were near the Beverly Wilshire Brehan. If I didnt know better I would swear she said that like that was a piece of information that I should know, Thank you Pam. When we get to the hotel Im going to need you to go out and run a few errands for me. She needed to be brought down a peg or two. She was just a tad too comfortable with me, Im sure the concierge will be more than happy- Before she could finish I held up my hand to dismiss her words, No. I want you to do it. I gave my attention back to Sarah, Ok sweetie, sorry for the interruption. You have to do things yourself sometimes or theyll never get taken care of. I could see Pam seemingly slide down in her seat. In the beginning Pam jumped through more hoops than a seal at Sea World but lately Ive become to casual with her and her complacency for her position; a position that many girls would give anything to have; has been totally unacceptable. So, where were we? Sarah laughed, I heard someone in the background say you were near Beverly Wilshire. Look, Im already at the restaurant. Come on over and we can eat now then get in some shopping before I have to meet with my mother. I really wanted to go back to the hotel and freshen up first, I need to go to the hotel and change Sare. Traveling from one coast to the other was always a burden and after being on an airplane that millions had been on made me itch, airplanes were a flying petrie dish. Brehan, you dont need to change. What you have on is more than acceptable. I know you; you arent wearing jeans. Youre either wearing a skirt or a pair of trousers. I looked down at my black mid thigh dress, Ok, but I could be in a pair of leather pants or something. She laughed, Who wears leather pants on a coast to coast flight? Come on Brehan, freshen your makeup and hair in the car and tell them to bring you to the restaurant. I smiled and rolled my eyes, Alright. It would have been just as easy for me to tell the driver but I didnt want Pam to think for a minute that she was getting a free ride in a limo. Didnt want her to get too comfortable, Pam, change in plans. Let the driver know Ill be going to the restaurant now. She nodded, Yes Brehan. I pulled out my Louis Vuitton travel case and began to look at myself in the mirror, making changes to my makeup and hair as we moved through Los Angeles. For the first time in what seemed like a long time I was smiling. True enough I was working this week in Los Angeles, one look at my schedule and anyone could see that; it was tighter than a damn virgin. However, I made sure I didnt have to do anything my first day in LA. I have been working my ass off for the past four months and it was only going to get worse before it got better so Ive decided to throw in as much fun as I can between jobs. Having a good time was going to be difficult and it would take a work like effort to make sure I had time to partake in pleasure. It had seemed like forever since I last saw Sarah and once I got a good look at her I wished I hadnt let her talk me into coming straight to the restaurant from the airport. Her hair had grown longer and was now down the middle of her back and her blue eyes seemed brighter and bluer than I remember. She was a classic beauty with sexy pinup looks from the fifties. She stood up once she saw me and held her arms open waiting for me to walk into them, Hi sweetie. How are you? Our hug was brief as we both took our seats, Im great. How are you? You look fabulous. I probably do but I still feel all dirty from that airplane trip, No, you look fabulous. What have you been doing? She smiled, New personal trainer. Im actually working out this time and I dont mean horizontally. Sarah had a little fling with her last personal trainer and the last I heard it was hot and heavy. It was news to me that he was no longer making her sweat, So youre not with Jason anymore. What happened? She waved her hand nonchalantly, I was never with Jason. We just had fun. I had to cut him loose when he wanted more time than I was paying him for. She winked and I shook my head as I laughed at her, He was practically a male call girl. I waited for her to say something as she took a sip from her glass then looked at me, Hey, it was a win-win situation for him. He was getting sex and money. What more did he want? I snorted, You, all to himself, apparently. Sarah really was a good girl, it was when she was around me that she tended to spread her wings so to speak. Well, whatever. There is someone I want you to meet. A guy. She seemed to perk up, Oh really? I nodded, His name is Nick and hes the cutest kid ever. She became apprehensive, I could tell by the look on her face, Cute kid huh? Does this kid have a bank account, a car and a credit card? Sarah may not be exactly like me but her priorities were in order, Of course. Would I hook you up with Paco the pool boy or Hakim the chauffeur? He has a huge bank account, a few cars and a lot of credit cards. She nodded and her bright smile returned, Ok, good. What does he do? I leaned back in my chair, unsure of how she was going to take the news, Hes a celebrity, a singer. Hes a Backstreet Boy. She rolled her eyes, You want me to date a fifteen year old Brehan? I laughed I couldnt blame her. It was basically the idea I had about them. Hes not a teenager. Weve been at the same events lately and weve hung out. Hes a cutie Im telling you. She nodded her head and smiled, Ok, well maybe. Maybe meant yes; she didn't want to come out and say it. Hes here in Los Angeles. They have a show. Chapter 60 Stranger Than Fiction Stories Feedback |
