| Chapter 75 He rang the bell and he breezed through leaving her at the door facing someone she assumed was one of his friends, "Hi, I'm Lexi." She extended her hand as he smiled, "Hey, I'm James." She closed the door, "Can I get you guys something to eat or drink?" Nick shook his head, "No." It was evident that he was not in a good mood and she looked at James as he shook his head and declined her offer. Nick walked into the bedroom, Lexi turned on the television and handed the remote to James, "Here you go, excuse us, I'll be right back." He smiled and nodded as he began to flip through the channels. She walked into the bedroom and closed the door to see him packing his suitcase, "What are you doing?" He shrugged, "I'm only here for a couple more days and then I'm back to Florida. I haven't seen my friends since I've been here. I'm gonna stay with James and hang with them." She crawled across the bed to him and wrapped her arms around his neck and he quickly detached himself from her, "Don't." She frowned, "What's wrong?" He looked at her, "Look, I just need some time. We've just been moving too fast you know?" He shook his head as he walked in the bathroom, "What's the problem? I thought we had fun together." Nick came out with his toiletry bag, "We did, we do. I'm just not ready to get into a relationship right now. I want to be single for a while." She shook her head and her raised her voice, "You asked me to try this. It's not like I'm talking about marriage or babies." He sighed, never looking up and never stopping, "Maybe it came out wrong, I never meant serious relationship. Look, I'm sorry. We can still hang out sometime I just don't want a relationship right now, that's all. I mean, I just broke up with Shayna a few months ago, I just need to get it together first before..." There was a knock on the door and Nick called out, "Yeah?" "Hey man, something is on TV about you, I think you should see it." Nick looked at Lexi and pulled her into a hug, "Come on, we're cool right." He looked at her smiling with the pleading look of a little boy and she caved, "Yeah, I understand." She didn't really but she didn't want to fight with him so she accepted it and followed him out to the living room. "So, what is it?" James looked over at him, "It's after the commercial but it's something about a relationship from what they said before the commercial. It don't sound good." Nick sighed, "Great, why are people worried about me?" He sat down and Lexi stood in the back of the room as James turned up the volume once the program returned, "First it's love now it's war for Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his new gal pal. The two were spotted fighting on the beach this past Sunday." Nick shook his head as a home video of him and Lexi arguing on the beach aired on television for millions to see. There was no sound but it was obvious, from her kicking the ball out of his hand to him shoving her way from him and walking off with Amber. He shook his head and stood up, "Fucking great, I wish people would mind their own damn business." Before he could hear anymore he took the remote from James and turned off the television. He looked at Lexi for a second longer than necessary and she shook her head in despair, "I'm sorry." He walked into the bedroom, "Whatever, thanks all because you thought I was trying to get with your friend." She leaned against the wall and watched him walk out with his suitcase and backpack, "Here man give me that." James walked over and took the suitcase from him and smiled at Lexi, "Nice meeting you." She nodded as she followed them to the door, "I'll call you ok?" He nodded and waved his hand, not turning around, "Ok." Home Full Circle Chapter 76 |
