Chapter 70

She jumped at the sound of someone banging on her door,
"Lexi, open the door."  She looked over at the door and shook her head, Amber told her she had dropped him off at her place, now after no note, no phone call and hours later he shows up at her door after one o'clock in the morning demanding to be let in,
"Lexi open the door or I'll stand here and scream and bang on this door and all your neighbors will hear.  Now are you going to let me in?"  She jumped up from the thought of her neighbors getting involved in her life and opened the door to see him looking like he had had a rough night,
"What do you want?"  He sighed at her pleadingly,
"Please, can I come in?"  She shook her head as if to let him know it was against her better judgment.  He stood by the couch and turned around to see her standing with her hands on her hips.  He walked over and placed his hands on her shoulders and gave her a silly smile,
"What do you want Nick?"  He sighed,
"You...to not be mad at me."  He pulled her into the bedroom and sat her on the bed.  She watched him open her window and the breeze blew her sheer white curtains,
"That's better."  He sat down on the bed next to her,
"Look, I didn't sleep with that girl in New York and I wasn't hitting on your friend."  She watched the curtains blow like something out of the movie and remained quiet,
"So what did Nikki say about it?"  She shook her head,
"We didn't talk about it."  Nick looked at her and frowned,
"So you thought your friend and I were like trying to fool around and you get mad at me but you don't say anything to her?"  Her eyes darted around as she thought about what he had just said.  Maybe she was overreacting, he wouldn't try to get with her friend right in front of her.  He leaned over and placed his head on her shoulder and looked up at her with puppy dog eyes, blinking rapidly,
"I missed you all day.  I wouldn't do you wrong baby.  I promise."  She sighed as she hung her head and licked her lips, his mouth so warm attached to her neck.  He pushed her onto her back and lay next to her as he whispered,
"Can we..."  He sentence cut short as he kissed her once again on her neck as his hand ran under her shirt and he cupped her breast, he whispered in her ear,
"I want you."  His warm breath drove her over the edge and she turned her head and kissed him,
"I'm sorry for overreacting Nick."  He smiled,
"It's ok baby, don't worry about it."
