Nick was out on the basketball court with his friends, it had been a while since he had played and he was surely feeling it. Nick looked over at Craig after he made his shot,
�So, dude, you going out with us tonight?� Craig grabbed the ball and shook his head,
�I don�t think so, I�m supposed to have brunch with my parents tomorrow.� The guys looked at each other and started laughing and Craig stopped playing and looked at them,
�What? What�s so funny?� Nick caught his breath,
�Brunch man? Who the hell has brunch�and with their parents?� Craig shook his head,
�I do you morons.� He stepped up, made his shot and gave high-fives to his team,
�That�s it baby.� Nick shook his head and looked at his teammates,
�You guys suck, I carried you the whole way.� Craig laughed,
�Yeah, you and your one shot you made, shut the hell up.� Nick sighed and picked up a bottle of water,
�There�s more to the game than scoring.� They all looked at him like he was crazy and he flipped them off and they just laughed as Sam called over,
�Don�t you do enough of that?� He lay on his back on the grass,
�Not since LA, man I met this chick; she was hot.� They sat there stunned as he told them about his last night with Lexi, but no matter how many times they gave him crap for it, he wouldn�t tell them the really intimate details, just that it was great. He stood up and dribbled the basketball,
�Guess you�re over Shayna then huh?� He pulled up and made his shot,
�Pretty much, yeah.� He didn�t want to get into it with them; they would just rag on him if he admitted he still thought about her. It had been over for a couple of months and she had never brought up the idea of getting back together. Guys weren�t supposed to sit around missing a girl, he needed to move on and they figured he did since his sex life hadn�t slowed down. As he thought about it he enjoyed being able to come and go without giving someone a courtesy call as Shayna called it, he considered it checking in. He could sleep with anyone he wanted and he didn�t have to worry about someone�s feelings.
�So, you don�t mind if I ask her out?� He knew his friend was kidding and he laughed it off,
�She wouldn�t give you the time of day. You forget she hates you?� He shook his head and smiled as his friend pretended to be upset,
�But really, you couldn�t do her like me man, no other man will be any good after me dude. I�ve ruined her for life.� They laughed and Craig stood off to side and shook his head at Nick�s macho act, he would have never talked about Shayna like that before. They all stood up and started to play another game.
