| Chapter 111 Their bags were packed and their goodbyes over with as they hit the road headed north. He turned down the radio and looked over at her, "I still can't believe this car. It's amazing, I can't believe you bought it. You're usually so conservative and all." She smiled, "I live in Florida, I figure it's about time I had a convertible." He thought back to when he saw the car, a Chrysler Sebring, for the first time. Originally, he thought it was a rental but when they hopped in the car the first time she immediately asked him what he thought of her new car, "A silver convertible. Wow? So when are you going to let me drive?" His heart skipped a beat as she glanced over at him with her sunglasses on and hair blowing in the wind. She looked like a model, "Never." He frowned, "What? You've drove every car I own." She nodded, "Yeah and I don't have a million speeding tickets either." He shook his head, "What does that have to do with you? It's my record." She nodded, "It shows you drive too fast, I don't want you dogging my car." He sighed, "I'm going to drive this car, before we get home." She laughed, "Sure you will babe." Nick sat up and looked around, they were about thirty minutes from home, they just needed to cross the bridge, "How long was I asleep?" He looked at the clock and it read 6:00, "About an hour and a half. We're almost home. Want me to drop you off at your house or you wanna come home with me?" He yawned and stretched his arms, "Might as well go with you. There's no food at my house." He looked over at her and laughed as she rolled her eyes, "Oh so that's why you want to go home with me? Punk." He placed his hand on her thigh, "You know I get really grumpy when I'm hungry." She smiled, "Whatever." They made it into her apartment complex and parked, "Leave the bags, I'll get them later." He nodded and followed her upstairs. Once they were inside, he went staright to the bathroom and she picked up the phone to order them takeout. When he came out she walked over to him, "I ordered Chinese. It'll be about 35 minutes." He nodded, "Ok, cool." She grabbed his hand and walked towards the door, "Where are we going?" She smiled as she turned and looked at him, "To give you a tour of my complex. You've never seen it and I'm moving soon." He shrugged and followed her out the door and down the stairs. As they walked through the complex holding hands she pointed out the different ammenities, "That's one of the swimming pools." He looked over at her, "You have more than one swimming pool?" She nodded, "Yeah, two and two jacuzzis. And two lakes, a gym, a volleyball court and-" He pointed, "A basketball court too." She smiled, "Yeah." He shook his head, "This is so cool." He looked up and around and they were covered by a canopy of trees, "It's like a college or dorms or something. We should live here." She rolled her eyes, "Nick, please. It's not cool as it seems. You saw how small my place is. No naked swimming, no pool table, no recording studio." He thought for only a moment, "Yeah, you're right I guess." They continued to walk and came across one of the lakes with a shooting fountain, "That's cool." She nodded, "Yeah, it was broken for a while but they fixed it." They sat on a picnic table and he held her hand, "When are you moving back in with me?" She smiled, "As soon as possible, in the next week. I'll have to break my lease, that's gonna cost." He shrugged, "I'll take care of that, I asked you to move in with me." She nodded, this was one time she was not going to argue with him. Thinking of all the things she had to do made her think of his new lifestyle, "So, we're back together, what about your other, um friends, are you going to tell them?" He shook his head, "I don't have any friends. There's no one to tell." She frowned slightly, "What about Lexi?" He shrug, "We've been over for a while now." She looked down, "Oh." What was there to say to that. She wanted to question him, grill him with a lot of questions but she didn't want to start out the relationship with an argument. She let out a long sigh and stood up, grabbing his hand, "Let's get back." He nodded and allowed her to lead him home. On the way back there was some commotion at the basketball court, "Come on man." one of the guys called out. The guy they were talking to shook his head and waved, "I gotta go pick Annette up from work, I got her car. Sorry." They moaned and suddenly one of the guys addressed Nick, "Hey man, you ball?" Nick looked around then back at them, "Not that good man." Their friend, who was leaving them one man short, laughed, "They're not that good themselves, just in their dreams. Take my spot bro." Nick looked over at Shayna and she laughed at the look on his face, "Go ahead, I don't mind. Just make your way home dear. I'll keep the food warm." He nodded and ran off, "Hey, do you know how to get back to my place?" The look on his face gave it away and he ran back over to her, "Go around this corner, stay towards the right and I'm in building 8140." He nodded, "Thanks babe." She smiled and waved as he shook his hands and nodded heads with his new friends. Stories Full Circle Chapter 112 |
