JANUARY 20, 1993: Bill
Clinton is inaugurated as the 42nd President of the United States.
FEBRUARY 1993: Six persons
and one unborn child are killed, and over a thousand injured, as Al-Qaeda
operatives bomb the World Trade Center.
Clinton does nothing, says, “I feel your pain” to the victims and their
families, and never visits the site of the bombing.[1]
1995: Clinton meets with the
CIA director for the first time since the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Clinton’s deputy attorney general, Jamie
Gorelick (now a member of the 9/11 commission) issues a memo called “Instructions
for Separation of Certain Foreign Counterintelligence and Criminal
Investigations,” which prevents law enforcement and counterintelligence forces
from sharing information. As a result,
the FBI is not aware of it when two of the 9/11 hijackers enter the country and
is not able to search Zacharias Moussaoui's computer.[2]
OCTOBER 1993: 18 American
soldiers are killed in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Clinton stops the search for Mohammed Farrah Aidid and brings the troops
home. Bin Laden later tells ABC News,
“The youth…realized more than before that the American soldier was a paper
tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat.”
NOVEMBER 1995: Five Americans
are killed and 30 are wounded by a car bomb in Saudi Arabia set by
terrorists. Clinton does nothing.
1996: Clinton figures out that Al-Qaeda was behind the bombing in the World Trade Center three years before. A State Department dossier spells out bin Laden’s operation and his intention. Clinton does nothing.[3]
FEBRUARY 1996: Sudan, current home of Al-Qaeda, offers to extradite bin Laden to the United States, along with information about Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and the two 9/11 hijackers who piloted planes in the World Trade Center towers. Clinton turns them down.[4]
JUNE 1996: Terrorists bomb a US Air Force housing complex in Saudi Arabia. Clinton does nothing.
AUGUST 1996: Sudan offers to extradite bin Laden once again. Clinton turns them down.[5]
APRIL 1997: Sudan offers information on terror networks to US. Clinton turns them down.[6]
FEBRUARY 1998: Sudan offers information on terror networks once again. Clinton turns them down.[7]
AUGUST 7, 1998: US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania are bombed by Al-Qaeda. Clinton fires cruise missiles at a baby formula factory in Sudan and an abandoned Al-Qaeda camp in Afghanistan.
2000: An Algerian is caught in the United States with explosives. A secret White House review recommends crackdown on potential sleeper cells in the US and says, “The threat of attack remains high.” Clinton does nothing.
JULY 2000: Sudan offers to extradite bin Laden once again. Clinton turns them down.[8]
OCTOBER 2000: The USS Cole is bombed by Al-Qaeda operatives. Seven US sailors are killed. Clinton does nothing.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001: Al-Qaeda terrorists hijack four planes and fly them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, killing 3,000 Americans.
