WHEREAS, the denial of voluntary prayer in the schools is a violation of our First Amendment right of freedom of speech; and

WHEREAS, we support a school prayer amendment to the United States Constitution which says,"Nothing in this Constitution shall be considered to prohibit individual or group prayer in public schools or other public institutions. No person shall be required by the United States or any state to participate in prayer, nor shall the United States or any state compose words of any prayer to be said in public schools or other public institutions." now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party in the above-named precinct urges Congress and the states to approve such amendment to the United States Constitution.
