WHEREAS, the Republican Party since 1976 has upheld the sanctity of life with the inclusion of a right-to-life plank in the party's national platform; and

WHEREAS, partial birth abortion is a hideous, Naziesque procedure, designed to murder a living child at the moment of birth; and

WHEREAS, in January 1998, Mr. Tim Lambert, then the Republican National Committeeman from Texas, introduced and courageously defended before the Republican National Committee (RNC), a resolution that would have ended party funding for Republican candidates who favor partial birth abortion; and

WHEREAS, the RNC adopted the Lambert resolution with amendents that removed the funding revocation language; now therefore be it

RESOLVED that we, the Republican voters of the above-named precinct, do not support the funding by the Republican Party at any level of candidates who favor partial birth abortion; and be it further

RESOLVED that we call upon the State Republican Executive Committee and the RNC to deny funding to candidates who support partial birth abortion; and be it further

RESOLVED that we commend former National Committeeman Tim Lambert for his efforts in this regard; and be it further

RESOLVED that the Senatorial District and County platforms throughout Texas and the state platform of the Republican Party of Texas be amended to specifically address partial birth abortion and the funding of candidates who support this brand of infanticide.
