RESOLUTION ON NATIONAL I.D. CARD

WHEREAS, in the wake of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, some are deceptively advocating federalizing state drivers licenses as a national identification card to enhance domestic security; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party in the above-named precinct opposes federalizing state drivers licenses to be used as a national identification card for U.S. citizens, which would violate privacy rights and greatly expand the government's power over the people.

The foregoing resolution was properly submitted in triplicate and was adopted by the Republican voters in the above-referenced precinct in convention on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
