WHEREAS, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed"; and

WHEREAS, the Republican Party of Texas fully recognizes the constitutional rights of the citizens to keep and bear arms, and further recognizes that people, not guns, commit crimes; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party in the above-named precinct reaffirms the right of American citizens to keep and bear arms, as guaranteed by the Constitution, and opposes any legislation restricting that right, including the registering of firearms. We urge Congress to repeal all restrictive gun laws, so that every law-abiding citizen can take part in "Homeland Security" and national defense.
