WHEREAS, the purpose of the Republican Party should be to elect candidates for public office who uphold the principles of the Republican Party as set forth in the state and national Party platforms; and

WHEREAS, the grassroots of the Republican Party are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Republican officials who abandon Republican principles in order to "accommodate" liberals within the Party and the leadership of the Democrat Party; and

WHEREAS, the Republican Party of Texas considers it more important to elect Republicans who boldly stand for principle, rather than to elect "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) candidates; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party in the above-named precinct commends those officeholders who uphold the principles set forth in the Constitution and the platform of the Party, and that we build our Party by recruiting and electing candidates who are committed to Republican and constitutional principles.
