Gravelly Lane (Goosemoor Lane junction) 1940's-60's, Hand-Drawn Map
A resident has done this drawing from memory.
As you can see no Jarvis Road yet (and Enfield Close and Somerton Drive were of course much later). See the little kink at the Goosemoor junction? Removed as a traffic calming measure for Goosemoor in the 1950's I'm told. Didn't work either! The little cottages had cellars and local kids made them into dens when they were abandoned. Though these cellars were eventually filled in as a prelude to housing appearing.
