Drive/Court Lane Junction - 2003 - A Huge Tree Once Stood Here
The Court Lane/Fosseway Drive junction grass verge once had a tree so wide 3 men could just about link hands around it. Was cut down, and later removed completely. Today you can still see where it lay though and how big it was, above it's just to the left of the dead-end sign. Today it looks like soil there but if you check it's wood, the trunk base and roots still left. I remember a huge willow yards away in the 1970's. That's vanished too. A field once at that corner was owned by gypsies called Chipman.
