(1) The game which was pulled from the shelves due to a bug that caused your hard drive to be formatted is MYTH 2- SOULBLIGHTER. Most people got this one right although some people guessed Football Pro 99 which was pulled from the shelves by Sierra for being bug ridden as well.
(2) This was a tough one. The original Settlers was released way back in 1993.
(3) REDGUARD is the latest installment in the Elder Scrolls series. The first games were Arena and Daggerfall which were less action oriented than this newest offering.
(4) SIERRA was sold (a deal worth nearly $1 billion) to Havas SA, a Paris based media group. Let's hope this new ownership will cause Sierra to start thinking about the consumer first and not filling their own pockets.
(5) The upcoming game Revenant is a ROLE-PLAYING game. It will have stiff competition though with the release of Diablo 2.
(6) JOHN ROMERO is the founder of Ion Storm. A surprising amount of people got this one wrong. I guess this latest offering by Romero better be good, since people are already forgetting the man who helped bring us Doom and Quake.
(7) Return to Krondor was developed and published by PYROTECHNIX, SIERRA.
(8) The original answer to the plane that could not be flown in Janes WWII fighters was supposed to be the FOCKE-WULF 190. However people brought to my attention that you could fly it so I made the question a gimmie. :)
(9) The lead character in the game Trespasser is a FEMALE. If you don't believe me just look down while playing the game. Nice tatoo! :)
(10) Midtown Madness allows players to race in a virtual rendering of CHICAGO. Most people guessed New York City.
(11) Close Combat 3 simulates the EASTERN CAMPAIGN of WWII.
(12) Very few people got this one wrong. Even though there is a bowling movie with the same name, the upcoming Kingpin game has nothing to do with the sport. It is a 1st person shooter with a gangster motif. So the answer is FALSE.
(13) Most people complained about the large percentage of sim questions in this contest. It's no wonder because most people got them wrong. The upcoming indepth flight simulator by Janes will be on the A-10 WARTHOG. Most people guessed Longbow 3 or possibly because of the Kosovo crisis, the F-117 Stealth Fighter.
(14) The flight sim company famous for the saying "We build sims by the book" is of course JANES COMBAT SIMULATIONS. This is because the series is based on the Janes "All the World's Aircraft, ships, etc journals".
(15) Turok 2-Seeds of Evil came out on the NINTENDO 64 first.
(16) This was a trick question. The answer is FALSE. It may be true that Sid Meier created the hit Railroad Tycoon. He was not however involved in any way with the making of Rollercoaster Tycoon.
(17) Flanker 2.0 simulates the SU-33. Most people guessed one of the Mig jets.
(18) Rainbow Six Eagle Watch does not have a mission backdrop set for a JFK AIRPORT HIJACKING. Many fans of the game were disappointed by this, however Redstorm has decided to add a airport hijacking mission in their upcoming sequel entitled "Rogue Spear".
(19) The extreme part of Links LS Extreme is the fact that you BLOW THINGS UP. I did however accept the answer that you could "play on exotic courses" as well. This is because admittedly you could make a case that playing golf through a graveyard, etc is exotic. ;)
(20) Fireteam is a notable internet only game because of THE REAL-TIME VOICE FEATURE included in the game so you could talk to your teammates. Most people thought that the servers crashed constantly (no..that's Everquest) or that the game was shipped with numerous bugs (no..that was Sierra's Football Pro 99)
(21) S.C.A.R.S by Ubisoft is a RACING GAME.
(22) Enemy Infestation can best be described as a X-COM CLONE although I did accept the answer that it was a warcraft clone because the game did have real-time strategy elements to it.
(23) Star Wars- The Phantom Menace will have two games made. One is 3rd person shooter which was not included in the list to pick. The other will be a RACING GAME. Note: Following E3, Lucasarts surprised us by announcing a 3rd game called Obi Wan which will be a first person shooter. This was not known during the contest and thus people who picked 1st person shooter were marked wrong.
(24) The only baseball game that will model actual player faces is Microsoft Baseball 2000. Most people picked Triple Play 2000.
(25) This was a funny question because I wanted to know if the name recognition of Newmann/Haus was strong enough to title a game after. Obviously not because most people associated Newmann/Haus with fishing or safari hunting. The actual game is NEWMANN/HAUS RACING.
(26) Alien vs Predator was a tricky question because of the name. Most people guessed that there was only two characters in the game. This is wrong however as you can play as an Alien, Predator or a MARINE.
(27) Most everyone got this one right. Everquest is an online only game. The answer is TRUE.
(28) The first screenshot was LAMENTATION SWORD. Most people thought it was Baldur's Gate.
(29) The second screenshot was TRIPLE PLAY 2000. Most people thought it was High Heat Baseball 2000 or Microsoft Baseball 2000. This was admittedly a very tough one to get.
(30) Finally the third screenshot was FIGHTER SQUADRON. Most people thought it was WWII Fighters or European Air War. Again...another tough one..sorry about that :)
(BONUS) What sport game were the characters playing in the movie TopGun when Hollywood yelled to Goose "Mother Goose you pussy!"? The answer to this was VOLLEYBALL. Not many people got the bonus question. The most popular answer was "basketball" or "football".
