July 1861 - end of Civil War:
Nov- Dec, 1861, Huntersville, Jan-Feb, 1862, Camp Zollicoffer "By order of
General Johnson we left Camp McCullock Jan. 2, reached Monterrey that night,
received orders at midnight to reinforce General Johnson at Camp Alleghany
where we arrived on the morning of the 3rd, remained there until the next
morning, was then ordered back to Monterey where remained until the 27th of
January, was then ordered to this place (Zollicoffer). Arrived here at noon
on the 30th."
"April 30 -- Sept. 1, 1862, Near Bunker Hill, August 31 to Dec. 31, 1862, The
Company left Manassa Junction, Va. Sept 2, 1862 and crossed the Potomac and
Point of Rocks the 5th Sept. and marched to Fredrick City, MD. took up camp
near there Left there on 10 Sept and marched Via Williams Port to Harpers
Ferry, VA and on 14 took part in capturing the whole Yankee force at that
point under Com'd of Genl Miles. Marched from there to Sharpsburg, MD. and on
17 took part in the battle of Sharpsburg and on 19 returned to the Valley of
VA and took up camp at Bunker Hill and remained there 2 weeks and then marched
down the Valley and took part in destroying the Baltimore and Ohio R.Road and
returned to Bunker Hill, then marched to Berryville, Millwood, and crossed the
Shenandoah River at Front Royal and took part in destroying the Manassa Gap
R.Road and returned to the Valley and remained there until the 21st day of
Nov. when we marched up the Valley Pikes to New Market and then marched across
the Blue Ridge and by Orange C. H. to Guinea Station and took up camp near
this point where we remained until the 12 th of Dec. when we marched in the
direction of Fredricksburg and on 13 took part in the memorable battle of
Fredricksburg and on the 16 fell back within 8 miles of Port Royal where we
are presently encamped."
