| Posted: Thursday June 7th, 2006 9:57 AM PACKERS FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS DURING SEASON FINALE Packers coach Chris Bikowski made one thing very clear at practice last week, win the final game of the regular season and the playoff schedule is going to be MUCH easier on you. Lose the final game, and the first day of playoffs is going to be a tough day, starting VERY early in the morning. The team responded to their coaches motivating talk by dismantling the Falcons 58-18. Most notably, Alex Xander Bomber Hodge and Nathan sticky fingers Corsey came out on a mission and showed everyone in attendance just how potent the Packers offense can be. Alex made good reads on the coverage, checked down to his 2nd and 3rd receivers and made pin-point accurate passes and Nathan did his impression of a vacuum cleaner as he sucked up everything thrown his way. Nathan caught passes thrown over his head, at his feet and everywhere in between. He seemed like he was possessed out there and nobody was going to stop him said Coach Chris. The stat sheet for the team looked more like a season full of stats. Alex threw 5 TD passes, caught a conversion and had a long run. Nathan had 4 TD catches, threw for a TD and locked down the Falcons top receiver on defense. Then, there was Curtis Rocket Docket. He had a TD catch, a TD run, 2 long runs, 3 flag pulls and an interception, and thats only SOME of his achievements from the game. Chance The Enforcer Bikowski had 3 flag pulls on defense and a TD catch. Aaron The Bus Garcia had a flag pull and a 3rd down shutdown as he deflected a pass during a crucial point of the game. Aaron also had his dad pulling his hair out with a few incomplete passes, but Aaron just looked and laughed as his dad shouted from the sidelines youre killin me man! Jonathan sweet feet Campbell used his amazing speed to rush the QB most of the day. He also had a long run and 2 flag pulls. The most exciting part of the day was when Jonathan dove for a pass in the end zone and almost made the most spectacular catch ever witnessed. As Jonathan came down hard on the ground, the ball barely came out of his grasp, although the effort alone was worth 6 points. Vincent flag man Brunson did his normal thing, shut down defenses. Vincent moonlighted as the safety when he wasnt holding down zone 2 or 3 in the middle. He also caught a pass and completed a pass. The highlight of the day was Evan Mr. Improvement Aragon taking a handoff up the left sideline and motoring his way down field for a LONG TD RUN. Falcon after Falcon made their way towards Evan and each and every one of them watched helplessly as Evan darted past them on his way to the end zone. Nobody was going to stop him. He was determined to take that ball to the house, said Coach Kelly. The unfortunate part of it all was that Evans parents had to miss their first game of the season and it turned out to be the WRONG ONE TO MISS!!! After Curtis interception near the end of regulation, James The Bull Brown decided to take a break from his duties as starting center and fill in as a wide-out. James ran a flawless pattern and found himself wide open in the end zone. Alex threw a perfect pass and James collected his first TD of the season. The Packers get a much needed bye in the first round of the playoffs and wont have to play their first game Saturday until 3pm. It is only going to take 2 wins for the Packers to get to the Super Bowl. If they can find a way to win on Saturday, they will be able to relax until Sunday when there is a very real possibility they may get to face the Dolphins again. Be sure to make it out to Chaney field this weekend for what is sure to be a great weekend of football! |
