100 Trillion Dollars a Year

Il-seok Yoo (1N1)

100 trillion dollars every year! That is such an unimaginable amount of money. I can do almost anything I want to do with that money. Then, what is the best way to spend it? Even if I buy only the best products and services for me, there will be a great amount of money left. I'll use it for social use. I'll invest in recycling system, research for alternative energy, industry of developing countries, and peacekeeping activities.

First thing I'll invest in is recycling system. Natural resources in the earth is limited, but people don't care about it and dump garbage rather than recycling it. If this is continued, natural resources of this planet will be depleted at last, and people will live prehistoric life. I will make organization that buy recyclable garbage and recycle them. I won't care if the organization doesn't make profit because I have enough money to give to the organization.

Second, I'll invest in researches for alternative energy. Fossil fuels are limited like many natural resources. I'll invest in researches for solar power, nuclear fusion energy, geothermal energy, etc in order to free mankind from depletion of energy.

Third, I'll invest in industry of developing countries in order to decrease economical inequality. Developing countries need money to develop their industry, but they don't have enough money to do that. I'll invest in industries of those countries to make the countries rich and decrease inequality.

Fourth, I'll invest in peacekeeping activities. I'll buy many influential media companies and make people dislike war. Then, I'll buy major weapon-making companies and make them do other kind of business without firing their employees. I'll influence governments to reduce their national defense expenditures by supporting politicians against war.

In conclusion, I'll invest my money in recycling system, research for alternative energy, industry of developing countries, and peacekeeping activities if I get 100 trillion dollars every year. I want to live happily, but I care about the world, also. The world is where I live and where my descendants will live. That's why I want to spend so much money for social activities.
