Marsha Mason was born on April 3rd 1942 in St Louis, Missouri. She has appeared in many plays, including The Good Doctor, where she met her second husband, Neil Simon. They married in 1973 and divorced in 1981. Her first husband was Gary Campbell (1965 - 1970, also divorced). Neil's play Chapter 2 was based on his life with Marsha. She appeared in the screen version of the role but did not appear in the stage version.

Marsha landed the role of Martin's loud, colourful girlfriend Sherry in Frasier in 1997 and left the series in 1998 after her character turned down a marriage proposal from Martin (John Mahoney). Besides Frasier, Marsha has also appeared in Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl (1977) (for which she was nominated for an Oscar), Only When I Laugh (1981) and most recently as herself in 100 Years, 100 Stars. She's also starred in the TV movie The Life Of Judy Garland with Victor Garber (Ferguson in Ep 169 "Taking Liberties").

She is currently running her own herbal medicine business called Resting In The River. Business is in both sales and manufacturing of medicines, which are made from her own herb garden in New Mexico.
