Skyline: A helicopter appears over the city.Plot: News that Maris has murdered her lover Esteban de Rojo is spreading all over Seattle. Frasier and Martin arrive at the Montana to comfort Niles and Daphne to find that the police want to talk to him. Martin reassures him they just want to know what he and Maris had talked about over lunch, and they go the station. Daphne goes back to Frasier's apartment after reporters keep phoning hers and Niles' place. Next day Niles and Martin arrive home. They met Maris' lawyer at the station, and apparently she and Esteban had had a fight. She'd kicked him out, and was practising for a play using an antique crossbow Niles had lent her when Esteban came back in a fury. She let go of the crossbow in self defence and he was dead before he hit the floor. Frasier comments on how calm Niles is about the whole situation, and Niles says he isn't going to let himself go to pieces. That afternoon some reporters come to Cafe Nervosa looking for Niles. Frasier appoints himself spokesman for the Crane family, but accidentally says that he thinks Maris and Niles should be executed! (He meant "exonerated"). Thanks to this the media become even more intrusive, and Daphne becomes angry with Niles when Maris keeps calling him. Niles tries not to crack, until the day after, once again in Cafe Nervosa, when Niles has a panic attack and takes off all his clothes! Roz and Frasier manage to calm him down again, and that night Maris calls again. Niles finally loses his patience and tells her to stop calling him, then he tells Daphne off for making him sleep on the couch, Martin off for keeping him down the station longer than they needed to be and Frasier for his "press conference". Niles is now more than able to cope with everything. Subtitles: Frazer With A "Z"; Fair And Unbalanced. It's Maris!: Maris is in jail and has lost her shoes. She left them outside for polishing and now Big Judy is holding them hostage. We also learn that Maris always has her passport, a wig and $10,000 in her purse, and that she has "terribly weak triceps". Roz loves.....: The guy whom she once woke up naked in his bedroom and found lots of cops everywhere. Martin knows.....: The guys down at the station who are trying to get the whole story about Maris, and his buddies who let him fire rounds into a dumpster whilst he and Niles were down the station. Trivia: There are indirect mentions of Gertrude Moon and Mel, as Niles' love life is reported in the paper about how he left Maris for Mel and Mel for Daphne. The Waiter and Waitress both make return appearances, and this episode marks the first time this season that Martin has mentioned some of his friends. |
