Directed by: Pamela Fryman
Regular Cast:
Frasier, Niles, Martin, Daphne, Roz and Eddie.Guest Cast: Connie (Lisa Robinson)
Guest Callers: None this episode.
Skyline: The light at the top of the Space Needle flashes.
Plot: It's Frasier's birthday and Martin and Daphne have made him a cake. However when he tries to blow out the candles Frasier hurts his back and has to stay at home (he tries going to work but can't even manage the first few minutes).
Niles helps Frasier sit down to rest and Frasier sits in Martin's chair as it's the most comfortable. Eddie comes over and sits with Frasier, who tells him how much he's going to miss Daphne when she marries Donny. However Daphne overhears part of the conversation and thinks that Frasier is in love with her!!!
Daphne tells Martin that "...Dr Crane may be love with me". Thinking she means Niles, Martin says this has been going on for 6 years, and Daphne is horrified. She decides to confront Frasier when he asks for a massage to help his back.
Daphne and Frasier soon sort things out but then Daphne wonders - who did Martin mean when he said "6 years"? Frasier is by now under the influence of some pills and without realising it answers Daphne's question - "It's Niles!!!"
Subtitles: Edward Crane, PhD; Back Talk.
Trivia: Well, this is it, as Daphne finally finds out the truth. However poor Niles doesn't know she knows!!!!! Reappearance of Connie and mentions of
Donny, Mel and Roz's mother by the way. Frasier turns 49 this episode, although his birthday in previous years appeared to me in March or April rather than December!!!Read the script of this episode at
