David Lee says |

- Frasier endorsed a candidate for election, only to learn that he believes he was abducted by aliens. "We got to comment not only on the insanity of politics, but also UFOs, in the very same episode," says Lee.

Cut Scenes |
|
- There was a cut scene right at the start where Martin calls his sons and Daphne over to watch the commercial. In the show, they are already sitting at the start.
- There was a brief moment cut where Martin says they are running the commercial 6 times a day, and Chanel 8 is showing a 60 second version where Martin limps and is helped by an old lady.
- When Niles entered Cafe Nervosa, the Waitress also came over to him and asked what he wanted. Niles went through the same options the Waitress told Frasier, but Frasier kept reminding him the reasons not to drink them. At the end of the scene, there is a bit more with the Waitress as well.
- Not quite a cut scene here, but in the script the young boy arrives before Frasier tells Niles why he can't do the TV spot - in the show Frasier tells Niles before the young boy arrives.
- In the script, we hear a caller, Susan, say thanks to Frasier. In the show we cut straight to Frasier thanking Susan for her call.
- After Frasier's remark about never finding Roz alone in her bed, she starts talking about this great expression she used in her college French class - "bite me".
- The whole scene where Bulldog slaps Roz's butt and she grabs his tongue was not in the script.
- There was whole segment where Bulldog could not find his Tommy LaSorda tape that as cut.
- When Thorpe calls Frasier, there was a bit cut from the beginning of his speech where he says he'd like to "answer that crack of yours in the spirit in which it was offered." Frasier says he welcomes contrasting viewpoints.
- Frasier says Phil deserves to be the next Congressman. Niles agrees, saying he's "a man of the people, just like us!" (!) We also learn that as Maris has her servants down at Phil's HQ licking envelopes, Niles is in charge of the marketing...
- A scene where Phil Patterson talks politics with Martin and Daphne was cut and replaced with Daphne's story about her uncle who used to be a political writer for a tabloid.
- There was a cut segment during Frasier's recording of his broadcast where Jimmy the director notices how nervous Frasier is looking.
- When Frasier and Niles are talking in the kitchen, there was a cut bit where Niles keeps asking Frasier if he was kidding about the aliens.
- A very funny scene was cut from the script, where Daphne enters the kitchen and tells Frasier she thinks he had stage fright. She suggests a tip her uncle told her - imagine everyone in the room is naked. Of course Niles follows her advice..... :-)
- During the second scene at KACL,
Madman Martinez calls in. The scene was cut but did end up being used in Ep 43 "Someone To Watch Over Me".

Major Dialogue Changes |
|
- Niles says "You dragged me over to watch a commercial for Holden Thorpe?" - in the show he says "us", not "me".
- After Daphne says it's time "for a celebration", Martin says she's right and he'll have a beer. In the show she asks him what he wants - and of course he says he wants a beer. :-)
- In the script, Martin says the Thorpe rally was at the mall - in the show, it was at the park.
- Line cut from the script: Martin tells Duke on the 'phone that he thinks he was better "in the second take".
- After Martin says he copied his idea from Lyndon Johnson, Frasier says "Oh Dad, you didn't..." - he says nothing in the show.
- Frasier tells the Waitress that he's "feeling a little politically sensitive these days." Just before she leaves, he tells her "The Kona will be fine" in the script - in the show he says "That will be fine, thank you."
- In the script, Frasier says, "When I think of our father supporting that self-serving fear monger..." - in the show, he says "I can't believe our father is supporting..."
- As Frasier prepares for commercials at KACL, he adds that the show is "Your port in the storm in this turbulent world - an oasis of peace and tranquillity."
- Instead of Frasier saying "It's better than having you here!" to Thorpe's commercial like he does in the show, in the script he says "It beats having you here!"
- The end of Thorpe's commercial is different in the script.
- Bulldog said in the script that Thorpe is going to send "those homeless people back where they came from".
- Frasier tells Roz just before Thorpe calls in that he tries "as a rule, to remain impartial." Seconds later, when Roz says who is on line 1, she says that Thorpe is "running for Congress and he has a problem."
- In the show Thorpe says that America would be a much better place the day the "likes of you are off the radio". In the script, he asks Frasier what he had done for Seattle besides "listen to crybabies and pry into Seattle's sex lives?" Frasier says he is a "needed therapeutic service", and Thorpe responds by sating that many of Frasier's listeners must be disturbed to listen to him. Frasier then says he's got something to say, but he's out of time. In the show, he is about to start when Roz tells him she cut to traffic 5 seconds ago.
- Frasier says during his commercial that he is "a private citizen, a concerned citizen" - in the show he just says "concerned citizen".
- Niles' line, "Yes, yes, adjust those lights. They need to be, uh, lighter and... you know, brighter," was not in the script.
- There was a line cut where Daphne tells Frasier he was very good, then looks at Martin as if saying he wasn't.
- In the show Frasier says "Isn't that just like the media? The day before the election they find one tiny flaw in a man and they try to ruin his career!". In the script he just says the media are like jackals.
- The illegal aliens are from Uruguay in the script and Guatemala in the show.
- Martin says they "must have counted absentee votes from the Planet Krypton" in the show, in the script he says "Xenon".
- Only in the script is it revealed that Daphne is invited to Thorpe's big victory party.
- Line cut from the script: Frasier says he is "going to be reminded of this day for the next 2 years."
- Only in the show does Frasier ask Phil if he believes his encounter with aliens really happened.

Cast/Character Changes |
|
- The Director has a name, Jimmy, in the script (possibly after James "Jimmy" Burrows, director of the episode?)
- Even though the Madman Martinez scene was cut, he is credited as Dan Gerrity. John Lithgow voiced him in Ep
43 "Someone To Watch Over Me".
- The TV Announcer is credited as Maris Clement.
- And bizarrely, no-one is credited as Holden Thorpe!
