Cut Scenes |
|
- When Daphne goes to answer the door, Martin feeds Eddie in the show as a thank you for helping him get out of his exercises. In the script, there was a scene about Eddie disliking taking orders, and Daphne mutters who he got that off.
- After Daphne says her line about giving Eddie a smack, and Niles thinks she's talking about him, in the script, he says nothing and Martin tells her to leave Eddie alone. In the show, he starts mumbling, trying to come up with something to say.
- After Niles tells Martin about Maris wanting to ride a horse, a cut scene saw Niles saying the wardrobe suited her, and Daphne comments about how she looks "so natural carrying a riding crop." Frasier comes in straight afterwards and adds "This is outrageous!" to what he says in the show.
- After Frasier tells them that the book is based on him, in a cut scene Martin says it must be a mistake - because none of his son's stories are worth $14.95!
- When Bulldog comes along, he bangs his head on the vending machines in the show to get free food - he doesn't do this in the script. His speech about his first time is the same story, yet different phrasing.
- Bulldog's lines from the book are different in the script.
- During Frasier's speech with Thomas, there were a few lines cut where Frasier says "It figures a hack like you wouldn't recognise a forceful climax" and Thomas doesn't know what to say (and says that).
- After Frasier tells Martin about his talk with Thomas, Martin says "You told him off, didn't you?" and Frasier says he did.
- When Frasier talks to Mrs Warner, the scene where he says they used to be "more than friends" wasn't in the script.
- In the show, Frasier says it has been 25 years and Clarice tells him how successful he is - this was not in the script.
- A short cut scene involved Clarice telling Frasier she could never be mad at him.

Major Dialogue Changes |
|
- During Frasier's reply to his caller Steven, a line was cut where he told him "I know I'll always cherish the times my son crawled in with my wife and me - finally there was someone for us to cuddle." Frasier also says "Once the baby's" in the script and "After the baby's" in the show.
- In the script, Roz shows Frasier her book and he says "'Slow Tango In South Seattle.' Oh, not you too." In the show, Roz says the title of the book and then Frasier says "Oh God, not you too!"
- When Frasier reads the first paragraph of the book, in the script it says "wine coloured sea", but in the show he merely says "wine seas."
- In the script, Roz says "Men have so soul". In the show she says "You men are all alike. You have no soul." In the same scene, when Frasier finds out who the author was in the script, he says "Thomas J Fallow?". In the show he says "Oh my God, it's him!".
- In the script Roz says "He's going to be a guest tomorrow...", in the show she says "he's coming here to the station tomorrow..."
- After Daphne tells them the book is about Frasier's first time, he says "Thank you Daphne." In the script, she then said "I just started the book, but I rather like it."
- In the show but not in the script: Just after Niles asks who the woman was, Frasier says "That's not important!"
- In the script, Martin says "Plus I was shelling out $10 a week!", in the show he says "I was putting on $10 a week."
- Niles' classic line, "No, you'll be relieved to know that while Frasier was getting his Rachmanninofs I was actually studying music," was said the other way round in the script.
- After Thomas reads some of his book, a cut line had Amber Edwards saying "What was that New York Times book reviewer thinking? That's beautiful!"
- When Bulldog comes along and tells Frasier he knows all about it, Roz mutters that she knew Father Mike wouldn't "keep his trap shut." A few seconds later, when Gil makes his joke about the "Frasier Crane Double Decker", Frasier mutters "Please don't keep us in suspense," to Gil and "I'll get you for this," to Roz.
- In the show, Amber tells Thomas "Will you excuse me, I want to call my husband and see if he can take a long lunch." - in the show, she says she's going to call her ex husband and have another go with him.
- In the script, Frasier says he promised he'd call Miss Warner at Christmas rather than in the show where he said she was sleeping peacefully and had an early lesson next day!
- When Frasier is reading the book, instead of "But he never did and all that remains of him are the withered petals of the rose he left upon my pillow" which he reads in the show, in the script he read "In a world of constant flux, my love will never change."
- The scene where Clarice enters the room is different, in the script she asked "What's going on here?" rather than "Mother, I'm going now," as well as a few other changes. Mrs Warner offers to make iced tea in the script, in the show Clarice asks her to and Mrs Warner tells Frasier she'll be back!
- Clarice says in the script after Frasier apologises about telling the story that it was OK since he didn't mention her name. In the show she says it was nice to revisit that part of her life again.
- Finally, Clarice said "Yeah sweetie, I'll be right out," to her date in the script. In the show she just said "I'll be right out."
