17 "A Mid-Winter Night's Dream"

Cut Scenes

  • The scene where Niles tells Frasier his marriage is in a rut was longer had a cut scene where Frasier says that Niles and Maris have been married for 15 years, only for Niles to correct him with the correct answer of 9.
  • After Frasier asks Roz for advice on sex, she thought the advice was for his relationship. Frasier's pleas of "it's for a friend" met with a "Uh-huh".
  • At the end of the radio station scene, Roz said Frasier should be a fireman rather than a gladiator like she said on the show. Frasier mentioned a sex game he and Lilith used to play - and then realised he was on air.
  • When Niles tells Frasier and Martin about what happened with Maris, there was a short scene with Martin saying he didn't want to know.
  • When Daphne and Eric return to the apartment, a cut scene saw them kissing again and Eric telling Daphne he'd call her.
  • After Daphne offered to help Niles, he replied with "You would do that for me?"
  • When Maris phoned and Niles said she should come home, he also sounded excited after looking at Daphne and had to cover up to Maris with "I am excited to have you home again."
  • Martin reminded Frasier of Niles' crush on his dental hygienist, Jodi. "He had his teeth cleaned so much his gums haemorrhaged."
  • Martin also blamed the car breaking down on the rain.
  • After Niles said "to be so open, warm and loving" to Daphne, she replied "And foolish." Niles tells her she wasn't. In the show she merely said "Thank you Dr Crane."

Major Dialogue Changes

  • A line from Frasier to Daphne "Why don't you just take the night off" after she leaves was cut.
  • Frasier tells Niles he was "just trying to lighten the mood" after the Jolly Roger line.
  • In the kitchen next morning, Daphne told everyone Eric had composed a song for her.
  • After Niles moans about everything being about Eric, he apologised to Eric and said he was "so upset [he] didn't know what [he was] saying."
  • Niles' phonecall to Frasier's apartment lasted a bit longer in the script.
