| This ship holds my heart on sun bleached boards, with polished walks it sails to sea against my will carries my dreams and future forth to hit high seas and never return with sails of bright and somber hue fade into the sky before night can fall straining and calling to bring back that life that I kept in my heart for the future to hold another ship sailing with a man aboard who I once might have been now a stranger turned cold eyeing me with sarcastic glints in his eye as he turns away another child in me dies This ship hold my heart I feel the wind sing through the air the thought of adventure and far off somewhere I turn to the shore and see a poor soul too heavy to board too old to enjoythe roll of the ocean the lure of the earth I give him a wink of my insolent eyes his head drops to his chest and I turn away towards the brighter dawn after alluring night the possibility stirs and my hopes all take flight Oh glorious future freedoms delight! 9/2/04 |
