| All the different shades I saw spread wide and green before me the hazy afternoon all those organics turned to gray with the insects singing loudly but my ears cannot identify I leaned aagainst some rust that used to be a wagon that my family used to work Lazy vines ripe with sunshine hung from warped board building that no longer keeps its paint attached, slose up their dusty old and sodden from the heavy rains last night, across weed and field and fencing a pair of giant willow catch my eye their thick emerald cascade swaying in the same west wind as I. I'd lay beneath their boughs but I'm too long from the sun which is burning in my eyes from all the time spent in my home warm humid air compresses with every pollen laden breath I take and though the chaff may tickle my nose its the scent of dark earth I note, I tilt my head to watch the scudding of the clouds another deep breath and I almost doze. No where else yields so much peace 5/24/04 |

| A hard wind blew my love ashore and wrecked that so fair maiden her name was Mighty Aphrodite and she foundered fully laden. Alas the crew, alas the load only one thing struck to heart It twas' so fair a ship to see so mercilous torn apart. |
