Missouri Public Service:
Many thanks to the Public Service Commission to allow citizens input,
and many thanks to all concerned citizens for attending.
Higher cost of fuels, will fuel inflation.
Invest in inflation, I hear its going up.
I oppose the per month meter charge and any increase, but
I understand there is a cost to develope the system, and ask the Commission
to allow the gas company to recover outlays to any metered service
over a reasonable period of time.
I believe for Missouri to be economically viable and to address cost
of gas and to encourage savings of natural gas, which is already in short
supply. Those that use the product should pay the cost.
I ask this Commission to support and move toward straight rate billing.
I ask ths Missouri Public Service Commission to move Misouri
toward a fair and equitable system of fee for service. The fee for service
will encourage efficiency and therefor savings and make Missourins
profitable in the long run thru conservation of dwindling fuel resource's
This will bring Missouri into the 21st century and prepare Missouri for
even higher energy cost. Subject to the adoption of the Kyoto tready.
Economic data from Bureau of Economic Analysis for 1997-1998
shows many Missouri counties below the national average in income.
Nationally, Gross Personal Income increased 5.9 Percent,
Missouri increased only 3.8 Percent.
80 percent of Americans live in the Metropolitan areas and earn
85 percent of the Gross Personal Income.
68 Percent of Missourians live in the Metropolitan area and earn
76 Percent of Misouri's Gross Personal Income.
20 Percent of Americans live in Non-Metorpolitan area and earn
15 Percent of the Gross Personal Income
32 Percent of Missourins live in the Non-Metropolitain areas and make
24 Percent of Misouri's Gross Personal Income.
National Metropolitan incomes are about 6 Percent higher then National average
incomes.
Missouri's Gross Personal Incomes in the Metropolitan areas are about 12 Percent
higher than Missouri's average.
National Non-Metropolitan incomes are about 75 percent of the National Average.
Missouri's Gross Personal Incomes in the Non-Metropolitan area are about
75 percent of Missouri's average, and
66 percent of National Metropolitan Gross Personal Income.
While Missouri has 2.01 percent of the Population, they only make 1.86 Percent of the
Nation's Gross Personal Income.
When compared to national figures, these figures do not indicate a bright future for
many Missourians.
I have submitted many interrogatories to the office of public council,
with limited time he has not been able to address all.
I have ask him to send his relevant findings on for your consideration.
I ask for your consideration and support for:
1: Lower Meter cost and
2: fee for service billing
