I love watching the Italian Serie A,the level of football is second to none,the excitement,the flair and most of the technical ability is outstanding.Many great teams in the race for the Championship(Lo Scudetto).Lazio,Juventus,AC Milan,Inter Milan,Roma,Fiorentina,Parma...the names roll off the tongue,all world famous names in football.Also,the great names of football appear in Serie A...the ultimate challlenge!.
Vieri,Ronaldo,Batistuta,Maldini,Davids,Bierhoff,Shevchenko,Totti,Zamorano,Nakata,Crespo,.....the names carry on.English and Spanish try to say they ahve the best league in the world..,but all the real World Class stars got to Italy.
Italy
I know i should support England,but i am so tired of all the broken promises and our obsession with the `World Cup 1966`...we will never be good enough..no matter how good the players are on a European or Domestic stage.Following the Italian League as i do i got to know most of the Italy squad,so i started following the national team before the World Cup of 1994.Their commitment and defensive qualities are so impressive..their desire to win and never give up should be learnt by all teams.
MLS,USA And Japan
I also watch the MLS (Major League Soccer)on tv when i can from the USA.It is great to watch,very exciting,they are still learning the ways of world football but their emergence is quite remarkable.Ok,the great players arent there,but you see players from the smaller countries from South America and Africa.The standard of football is high and the fans all love the carnival atmosphere.They make a whole day of it..and theres never a hint of trouble.Something the rest of the world should take note from!.
I am also following the progress of the USA and Japan national squads.They have some really good players and its nice to see them moving up on the world stage in such a short time.I hope they both do well in the forthcoming World Cup.They will of course be outsiders for every tournament until they make their mark on football.Maybe it isnt so far off...and thats whats exciting watching them get better and better with each game and tournament.
