Rancid* * *Good Punx

I'm getting quicker at this layout business, even though they're still fairly simple! Anyways, this page is for one of my favorite bands in the world, Rancid. The links are the lil fists there. The first is the main page, the second is the Official Rancid site, the third is a page of Rancid pictures. The third is the Transplants offical site, and the third is the Lars and the Bastards official site.

The band all started with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, The two had grown up together in Albany, CA when they formed the band in 1991. Lars Frederiksen and Brett Reed joined later in 1993 and 1991. When Brett joined, he had been playing drums for a mere 6 months, but the band started playing live 2 months later. The 3 piece band released a single in 1992 on Lookout! Records, and eventually signed to Epitaph in 1993, and released their self titled debut. The band started activly searching for a second guitarist around this time, and even had Billie Joe Armstrong (No relation to Tim) fill in for some shows. Billie Joe co-wrote Radio, which later appeared on Let's Go. Lars signed up after the demise of his band Slip, and learned every Rancid song in a week.

Let's Go was recorded live over 4 days, and included songs like Nihilism, Salvation, and Tenderloin. The major label A&R was begging for them to sign, offering in the millions. The band refused time after time, and wrote Disorder and Disarray which appeared on the next album ...And Out Come the Wolves. The album also included Time Bomb, Roots Radicals and Ruby Soho. After an extensie tour that ended with Lollapalooza playing alongside The Ramones, and Metallica, the band took a break from recording and touring.

Life won't Wait was recorded in Tim's home in San Francisco, Los Angeles. The record included songs like Bloodclot, Hooligans and Crane fist. The band remains on top of the punk scene with 2003's Indestructible, and Tim's sideproject the Transplants, and Lars's sideproject Lars and the Bastards. Recently, Matt has joined legendary Social Distortion, which he says is a side project for him, and Rancid will forever be his main band.
