On my site, I try to make a point of bringing you bands you may, or may not have heard of. I like to spotlight Canadian bands, unknown bands, but mostly, girl fronted bands. And here is yet another talented lady....and her band. In 1994, Shirley Manson's band Angelfish's single Suffocate Me made it onto MTV's 120 Minutes. Within 24 hours, Shirley left the band to join Garbage, after guitarist/bassist Steve Marker saw the show. The band, originally started by Marker, Butch Vig on drums, and Duke Erickson on Bass/guitars, with the addition of Shirley quickly climbed to the top of the world weith songs such as Only Happy When it Rains, Queer and Stupid Girl. They have realeased 3 albums in their career, and are currently in the studio recording their forth. Look for Marilyn Manson and Dave Grohl to appear on the new album, scheduled to realeased Spring 2005. I have no idea if Marilyn and Shirley are related but if you know, please email me.
