Could They Stay True?

Back when the CREW started official in late 1999 in the EIWF Davie turned up followed by Eddie D and they were known as the Good Guys. They said there was a third member and no one knew who it was, as we know it turned out to be Hollywood Hogan. Hollywood Hogan was not the original choice as the third member though. This may surprise many people as Hollywood Hogan, Davie and Eddie have had so much success together and they are close as you can get. The original choice for the third member was infact L double E. A very hot wrestler back in 1999 who remained undefeated for something like 4 months in the EIWF

The CREW reformed in 2000 with the slogon 'The band is back together' The new line up saw Hogan, Eddie, Big Poppa, and Davie. This was considered by many the best CREW there has been. They formed at Evil Intentions 2000. Someone else was chosen and even added to the CREW pictures of the time but it was felt that he may not of had the reliability that was needed. How many people would have thought that Revolution was chosen for the CREW but just as he was going to be given his chance it was taken away by Davie and Hogan.

There have been others who various people had want to be in the CREW. Davie wanted to retire in 2000 and become the manager of his former arch rival Karnage, Karnage to be in the CREW? Nothing came of this though as Karnage left the EIWF.

So many people have wanted to be in the CREW, I doubt I could remember them all and it wouldn't be fair to name some people who have asked to be in the CREW but were considered not to be good enough.

Even today it is still spoke about who would be good enough to get in CREW. Suicide wanted to start his own version of the CREW earlier this year but for unknown reasons it never went ahead, maybe the EIWF Prez didnt like the idea or he had just lost interest.

If the CREW was to reform tomorrow, just who would be in it???????

It has been a while since the above was written. Lets look at the last line 'If the CREW was to reform tomorrow, just who would be in it????' that makes an interesting point as the CREW was set to reform in April 2003. Davie had spoken to Hogan, the deal was done, the fed had been chosen as had the wrestlers. Davie was looking to make a small but powerful version of the CREW by adding some new blood into it.

Davie was going to form a tag team with Scott Douglass. Davie who had fallen out with long time tag partner Eddie D had no patience waiting for Eddie D and many insiders knew of Davies praise about Scott Douglass. Many people who knew of the CREW would have known of Scott Douglass. He was in the EIWF and feuded with Davie J in the IWA. Hollywood Hogan was also going to be included in the reformation as the main man to bring the world title home to the CREW. The forth member would be someone completely new, someone never associated with the CREW.

That man was the Prophet Joe Forbes. He was the man who persuaded Davie J to consider coming out of retirement and reforming the CREW. Joe a star on the indy circuit would of added a new cutting edge to the CREW with his high flying moves and hunger for success.

However we sit here 2 months since all this should of happened and none of it is. A varity of things caused this to fall through. Joe Forbes had personal issues, Scott Douglass seemed to lose interest in the wrestling business and Hogan was always too busy. With all this happening Davie J took the job as second in charge as a booker. This maybe be the signal that Davie's in-ring career is all but over.

We wait and see, until the next update. Will Davie wrestle again, will there ever be another CREW?????

What a year it has been since the above was written. The CREW was asked to reform again and it fell through at the last minute, the Good Guys reformed and the Hollywood Icons became the new leader in factions!
